Keep in mind Apple Pay and Apple Wallet are different. Apple Pay uses your default credit card, whereas Apple Wallet can hold of bunch of cards, gift cards, airplane boarding passes, etc. Disney GCs can be added to Apple Wallet but not (I don’t believe) Apple Pay. (I could definitely be wrong though!)

Hoping I can use them for a DGC gift card purchase at Sams Club which would be a 16.2% total discount
Worst case Walmart still takes gift card for DGC gift card and I'm looking at a total discount of: 12.71% discount.

Update on using Walmart Gift Cards to purchase Disney Gift Cards.

I used $550 of Walmart Gift Cards to purchase $550 of Disney Gift Cards today using self checkout. The Disney Gift Cards were the $50 denomination.

No issues what so ever.

Keep in mind Apple Pay and Apple Wallet are different. (I could definitely be wrong though!)

In my experience anything added to Apple Wallet can be used with Apple Pay. It'll have your default card at the top but your other cards will be at the bottom and can be used. With that said I haven't seen a way to add a DGC to Apple Wallet if you weren't given the option at purchase with an electronic card.

Since you've been using Apple Wallet at WDW, can it be used in shops too? Do you have to provide a card number each time you place an order or will it save the DGC?

While on the topic of adding DGC on apps, the same can be done when utilizing My Disney Experience mobile app .
You can pay for meals with a Disney Gift Card or a Disney eGift Card.
You will have to provide a card number each time you place an order because the app will not save that information. Please note that only one Disney Gift Card can be applied per order, but you can use it in combination with another credit or debit card to complete your purchase. Disney Plan - Feb 2, 2021
That's a bit tedious.

I used my gift card that was in my Apple wallet in shops with no problem at all. I just pulled it up and they scanned the code. When I used a gift card in MDE for mobile order I saved my GC number in my Notes and and just copied and pated. I always have a copy of my GC numbers in my notes just incase something happens and I lose a gift card or if something happens.

A great tip I’ve heard and used is to save your GC number in the Notes app on your phone. Then you can cut and paste it into MDE when you mobile order.

I did this and it was very easy. I would just copy it before I placed my order and then pasted when it was time to pay in the mobile app.

Hi everybody...I love saving money/maximizing rewards and wanted to let you in on one way to save on Disney gift cards right now that I am using for an upcoming trip. I apologize if this has already been mentioned & hope it's allowed because it involves a CC.

I recently applied for and was approved for a Chase Freedom Flex. If you are new to the card, the current sign up bonus is $200 cash back on $500 spend in the first 3 months, and 5% on groceries for the first 12 months up to $15,000 total spend in the first year (I believe). It is a rotating category card, and July - September 2021 is Grocery stores and Streaming Services. The effective grocery return rate for these months because of the first year bonus is 9%. Of course you know you can buy Disney GCs at the grocery store with your usual grocery purchase and rack up some serious fuel points too, if your grocery store has gas. I would not buy a Disney GC without also purchasing some grocery items. Anyway, if you don't have this card it might be worth considering--it is a really good SUB and category card, IMO.

This is good to know. I need a good bit of Disney $ for upcoming trips, APs and DVC dues. I have some rewards programs that give WM gift cards, I thought the WM and Sam's GC to Disney GC was dead. So this is happy news for me! Someone please correct me if I'm misunderstanding.
