I. LOVE. TIMERS!
They are every where in my house all year, and this time of year there’s even more. I can’t imagine plugging and unplugging things every night - that would drive me crazy and I probably wouldn’t do it. The timers allow us to enjoy items that light up every night without thinking about it. As I was plugging in more timers this past weekend, while I was decorating the house, I started to wonder if all of you use timers like I do. Let’s find out. Give us your illuminated answer today…..

Do you use timers in your house?
If yes…..how many? (currently - the amount you have today)
If yes…..do you use them all year or just during the holidays?
(multiple choice)

For Me…..I use them all year. If something can’t be put on a timer, like something that takes batteries only, then I’m not buying it. How many do I have right now :scratchin Let’s find out…
Living Room - 4 - Curio cabinet, Christmas tree, window light & Mr. & Mrs Claus and another one a few Christmas decorations plugged into it. When not Christmas I have a beautiful little butterfly lamp that’s plugged into it.
Dining Room - 0
Kitchen - 1 - Christmas decoration that sits on top of the fridge
Family Room - 6 - All Christmas decorations plugged into them. When it’s not Christmas time, there’s 2 in that room for a fake tree that I put fairy lights on and another for a lamp.
Upstairs Bathroom - 1 - Christmas decoration
Spare Becroom - 1 - small lamp
Hallway - 1 - My Grandma’s small fiber optic Christmas tree
Our Becroom - 1 - Decorative lamps
Basement - 1 - My DH has one down there for something of his
That’s makes a grand total of 15 timers right now at Christmas time.
There’s 8 throughout the rest of the year.

I leave my little tree plugged in all the time and everything else is set up with an outlet so that I can turn on and off with a switch but if I had to set it up otherwise then I would use the timer but currently right now I don’t have to And at my old house I did but in this house I don’t have to
If I had stuff set up outside then I would definitely be using one

no timers.
Tree is an easy step on button.
Outside is a light switch. Blow-ups are on the same switch.
I don't light the rest up unless the kids are coming over.

I use two timers all year round. One is for the front door, and the other is for the lights on the garage. I add two timers for Christmas lights for the holidays. And I will put a timer on the living room lights if we are out of town.

We use three timers for Christmas decorations. We used more in years past, but squirrels ket biting the strands of lights. We have given up.

My DH has the outside decorations on 1 timer and the inside on 1 timer. He runs everything through a master switch that's on said timers but he's a commercial senior maintenance engineer so it's easy for him. I have 0 clue, lol.

Nope. Quite a few years ago we switched all our lights to LED, which use minimal electricity and don’t get hot. We leave them on all the time unless we’re going away overnight. The nights here are very long now - we’re only getting about 6 hours of full daylight so the bright colours are welcome in the frozen darkness. :goodvibes

I only use them at the holidays and it is strictly for my outside light display. The three main power tower stakes have timers. In fact, I need to set them this weekend since there's no way DH will remember to plug anything in. For inside, I just have the various displays hooked up to remote controlled devices so it's easy on and off.

The lights at the end of my driveway are on a smart timer year round. I have them turn on at sunset and off at 10. I have another smart timer that I use on a lamp in the living room when we go on vacation.

I voted yes, I use timers and other. Currently I have 3 indoor timers and 4 outdoor timers for my Christmas lights but not all of my outdoor stuff is out yet. Plus more outdoor items are coming today.

NO timers at our house. The Christmas lights get replugged every afternoon and that's only because I added lights to the pre-lit tree!
Otherwise we have motion detection lights in our front and back yards.
