Hey girlies!

I'm thinking of renting a car at John Wayne Airport next Wednesday to use to get to Hojos and then to Fullerton to see my boyfriend. Then we'd turn it in Thursday morning. Does anybody know of a cheap way to do this? If I just use cabs, I'm looking at about $45 from the airport to Hojos and then I'm not sure how much to and from Fullerton. It's a straight shot down Harbor, less than 15 minutes, so I'm thinking $15-20 each way? So I'm looking for for something cheaper than that.

Tina, I have had the best luck with Thrifty Car Rental (you can find promo codes all over the internet) and Alamo using Costco's website to book through. Good luck getting a good rate!

Hey all! Long time no 'see'. I haven't been posting much, I've been busy, and really haven't had anything exciting or pleasant to share in a while. I hate to bring down the thread while everyone is excited planning.

My big news, is that I found out this morning that I won't be able to make the trip next week. My father's cancer is back, and I've been waiting not so patiently for weeks to find out what was wrong and what we're going to do about it. I almost feel like God has taken care of me in one respect though, he has made everything fall into place so that my father can have surgery next Friday, and I have the time off to fly out and be there for him and my mother. He has another spot on his colon and mets to his liver now. Please pray for us.

I'm so sorry that I won't be there to celebrate. I wish I was close enough to pass my costume on to someone. I also have a trick or treat party ticket.

I was so looking forward to staying in the party room and drinking Magicale with Theresa. This was my chance to stay at the Grand Californian and now I won't be able to. I hate it.

I was looking forward to Ms Sally's party. I know Dawn has put so much effort into making it special. I'm sorry I'm going to miss celebrating with her.

Thanks for being there for me everyone. I haven't been the best friend lately but I'll get back on the wagon soon.

Heather, I'm so sorry to hear about your father's cancer coming back. You're right -- CANCER SUCKS! I'm so glad you will get to be there for his surgery to support both him and your mom. Are you taking the boys with you or going alone? I will definitely keep him and your family in my prayers.

On a selfish, happy note, I have to say that my plane leaves in the morning I am so excited that I can hardly stand to be in the same room with myself. This time tomorrow night I will be in Disneyland!

Heather, I'm so sorry to hear about your dad. I know you have been worried about this for some time now. I will definitely pray that his surgery is successful and they are able to fully treat all the cancer.

Don't worry - we will surely have another opportunity to stay at the Grand and drink Magicale. I'm down for that whenever you're ready!! I even hear there may be some PIN codes floating around for the Feb/March trip timeframe, so maybe we'll get lucky and get an awesome deal that way or through AP rates.

Good evening ladies!
I'm back from doing laundry and last minute costume shopping. I bought my little sister's costume. She had got a 10-12 power rangers costume but it doesn't fit. She's now going as Spider-Girl! Her favorite superhero is Spider-man so when I was rattling off possible superhero costumes she paid no attention to Bat-girl, Wonder Woman, or Supergirl. It's pretty cute!



I grabbed some costume accessories for myself and bought a pack of 8 lipsmackers.

And yes, Cancer Sucks, BIG TIME!
I have a loved one with Cancer and it is an ongoing battle. You just have to keep fighting. We will surely miss you but of course you need to be with your dad. Have a safe trip and take care of yourself.

Steph - I hope you feel better real soon. Bree had the flu and she was banned from our house for almost a week. Her doc gave her meds so she was feeling better in three days, but it's no fun to be sick!

Ruben is NOT making it easy on me to resist this trip. He called around and found a cheap(er) rental car, and tried calling HoJo to book a room but they were full. Anyway, I said no. As much as I want to be there, and I REALLY want to see everyone, it would still cost a lot for just a quick weekend trip. I told him I appreciate his effort, but I'm trying to do the responsible thing and stay home. lol

So for now I will have to live vicariously through all your pics and look forward to seeing you all for a week in February!!

Buy snacks for the road.
Hmm...what would be a nice and easy breakfast on the road??

I guess I will pack capris.
