Updated Aerial Photos of WDW/Universal Orlando

I especially love the DHS photos where you can see the building of the retention pond across world drive, and the foundations for toy story land structures.

I know that Disney is expanding to add several lands in H.S. but what are they doing to stay ahead of Universal Studios? Universal Studios is doing a lot of construction and they are doing it way faster than Disney is. Is Disney falling behind? If they are what are they doing to catch up?

Disney isn't behind but they aren't ahead either. Disney builds at their pace.

Until WDW parks start falling behind Universals they don't have much incentive to build at a faster pace.

With the rumors of US buying more land and maybe building a new park, should Disney be scared? If they aren't ahead or behind what does that rumor mean for Disney?

It isn't a rumor but a fact that Universal bought more land - enough for two more theme parks and several more hotels.

There are no rumors about what or when they will build as far as I know, only speculation that it will involve Nintendo and/or Lord of the Rings.

I imagine that as far as Disney goes, when it comes to being scared of Universal's plans they will "trust only shovels" :smooth:

Universal did buy over 400 acres a while ago.
It would be nice if someone with a NearMap account would keep an eye on that 400 acre tract and let us know when there any signs of infrastructure work such as roads, drainage improvements, etc.

And by the by ... everyone should check out the Volcano Bay imagery ... now that's a company that knows how to build stuff fast! Only two years from announcement to opening.

AvatarLand, Star Wars Land take note ...

Bioreconstruct on twitter has and nothing major is happening with the land yet.

Permits will be the first tip off that something is happening.

Well, they need to do this small thing like get the land use law suit out out of the way before Universal can begin to develop this land as a theme park. Amazing how their political play years ago is coming back to bite them in the behind.
