Updated 9/13 - Plans Change with a 4 year old! A June 13-19 Trip Report

Sorry for the long break, but we had a birthday party at our house...and the house needed LOTS of attention before the guests arrived! Owen turned 1 on Friday and we had his Mickey Mouse Clubhouse birthday party on Saturday. Here are a couple of pictures:

He loved the cake! We have been trying to finish off what is left and his eyes get really big and a huge grin comes on his face when he sees it. I have let him have a little bit more, but not too much! He has enjoyed the cars and pushes them around the living room.

After lunch, it was time to use our Fastpasses for Toy Story Maina!

I was excited to ride this because it was a new ride since we had been there and I had heard great things about the ride. The ride is a 4D midway-style game-playing adventure. Hannah and I rode together and Ben took Owen. Somehow, Ben still beat my score!

Ben took this picture because he works with model airplanes!

After TSM, we decided it was time for a break. While we were walking, we ran into the sign for Wicket's Warehouse, which was where they had the "exclusive" Star Wars merchandise! Well of course we had to check that out! We ended up buying a few thing there...a tee-shirt and hat for Ben, a tee-shirt and Jedi Mickey stuffed animal for Owen, and 2 little action figures for the kids...or maybe Ben?!?! Ha! While we were standing in line to pay, someone made the remark that both kids were asleep! I knew Owen had fallen asleep, but I didn't realize Hannah had. I guess I should have when it got quiet! Hee hee!

We knew that it would wake them up to get on the bus back to Pop so we got drinks and walked around while they slept! After a little walking, we decided to take a break and rest. We found a bench and rested our feet. We were close to the Muppet fountain, so Ben took a few pictures. While the kids slept, Ben and I came up with the plan to get to the Contempary where were having dinner.

Thanks for telling me how to change the title! I knew I read it somewhere, but didn't hunt it down! The cake came from Walmart. I was surprised our Kroger didn't have a Mickey Mouse cake at all!!! What size shirt does Luke wear?

Walmart... perfect. I would love to get a small Mickey Cake for Luke (Hannah wants HSM) or maybe try to make one if I get crafty.

I keep seeing that darn shirt, but in like a nine month size or 24 months... never a 12 or 18month size.

Meanwhile, as we were walking to the front of the park, we got stuck by the parade! So we watched a little of it from way back. It was very loud and both kids were still asleep!

Soon the parade was over and we decided on a restroom break before we left the park. During this time, Hannah woke up and spotted the balloon man. She had been wanting a balloon since she saw a picture of it on the DIS! Daddy got one for her! She was thrilled to pieces!

Owen was still asleep so We didn't want to take the bus and wake him up. We still had about 3 hours to kill before dinner, so we took the long way around.

First we got on the Friendship to Epcot.

Walked through Epcot to the Monorail and rode the Monorail to the TTC and changed to the Monorail that would take us to the Contemporary.

Once we made it to the COntempary we still had about 90 minutes to kill before out dinner reservation. We looked around the shops and changed the kids clothes, and let Owen crawl around on the floor. He was ready to go, go, go!

We had 7:30 dinner reservations for Chef Mickey's. We had to wait a bit, but soon had our picture taken and were seated. Chef Mickey's is a buffet and I think it was the best meal we had all week. The food was WONDERFUL! Hannah loved seeing the characters and Owen well, just look at the pictures!

Mom...don't let it get me!!!!!

It's touching me!!!!

We had a great day! Magic Kingdom was having EMH that night, but we were too tired to go, so we headed back to the room. It was about 9:30 by then and we hadn't had a real break all day! This was the first time plans changed, it was a sign of things to come!

I just had to comment because I had your daughter's hair when I was her age! You don't see it much anymore!

BTW - Great report - We were at POP the following week, but never saw "your side" of the resort. We were in the 60s building.

We never saw the other side of Pop either. We never took the time to walk all the way around!

I'm curious, what does your hair look like now? Everyone asks me if I think it will stay curly? I have no idea, we aren't real sure where those crazy curls came from anyway! Love them, until it's time to do her hair!

It's straighter now, but I wear it past my shoulders and all one length. The shorter I wear it, the wavier it gets. And, I have ALOT of it so I think the weight of it holds it down! I just love the curls on little ones - although I probably would have shaved it if mine had stayed that way!

Love the pictures of Hannah with her balloon. Brooklynn will never be able to get one of those because MeMom would have the scissors out to set Mickey free. We love Chef Mickey's. Great character interaction and good food especially the desserts!!!!

Just found your TR today! It's been fun to read because we were there at the same time! (Our trip was from June 11-19) Wasn't SWW awesome? We had so much fun. And we went to Chef Mickey's the same night you did! Such a Small DIS world Our ADR was earlier though so we were gone by the time you arrived. Maybe we sat at the same table Looking forward to more. What a nice exit from DHS to the Contemporary. It would have been such a pretty walk!

Glad you enjoyed Chef Mickey's we love it there too. Hannah looked so happy with all the gang.

We loved SWW, just wish DH would have taken the time to enjoy it more. I'm sure when DS is older we will go back and let them take it all in! I stopped by your report! I enjoyed reading it!

It was a nice walk from DHS to the Contemporary. We should have taken more pics while walking though Epcot, but we didn't since we were both pushing strollers. Hannah loved meeting the characters and warmed up more each time we saw them!

I'm not sure if I'm hoping hers will straighten out or if it will stay curly? When her hair is wet it goes half way down her back, but you would never know that it is that long when it springs up!
