(Completed 6/15!!) Gonna Have to Buy a New House! - Jan 2025 TR

Will I Save the Galaxy? - Thursday January 30th 2025 (part 8)

Meanwhile, Trevor had apparently gone back to the Legends of the Bayou tribute store? He doesn't take as many pictures as I do so honestly, no idea. I just like this picture:
PXL_20250130_182922392.MP.jpg
About to be electrocuted!

Meanwhile I was starting to flag...it was hot! But I had one more ride I wanted to do - Buzz Lightyear! I headed that way and ran into another photographer in an unusual spot:
2025-01-30 - Magic Kingdom Park - Space mountain_2.jpeg
Right outside Space! Weird, but not gonna hate it.
2025-01-30 - Magic Kingdom Park - Space mountain.jpeg
Woo!

Despite my best efforts, I didn't get Galactic Hero my first time.
2025-01-30 - Magic Kingdom Park - Buzz lightyears space ranger spin_2.jpeg
The face of intensity! I only got 750k.

But they let me go again, and this time...
IMG_6840.JPG
Success! I'm a galactic hero! Had to take a well deserved rest:

The theming inside Buzz is really pretty good; I just never notice 'cause I'm so focused on the game. LOL
IMG_6844.JPG
Proof of my hero status. If you ever do get 999,999, definitely take a pic and show it to the CM at the gift shop! :)

Trevor was still hanging out at the Tribute store, getting sucked in by sucker signs:

LOL.

Beach Club Lunch Offerings - Thursday January 30th 2025 (part 9)

With the galaxy safely saved, I decided to head back to the hotel and take a rest. I was walking out through the gift shop (cause A/C) and then the slushy machine in the Confectionary called my name:
IMG_6845.JPG
Cherry icees are one of my favorite things. And at Disney? perfect!

Trevor sent me a picture he took of the Wicked store at Universal -
PXL_20250130_190714674.MP.jpg
We missed those posters last fall!

I waited about 10 minutes for a bus, and by 2:36, I was back at the Beach Club. I figured they'd be wrapping up the lunch service so I quickly ducked in to see what they had:
IMG_6853.JPG
IMG_6854.JPG
IMG_6855.JPG
IMG_6856.JPG
Cheese, veggies, hummus, cookies...nothing super exciting but a nice little snack. :)

Then I went to our room - we were super close to the lounge, about 4 doors away, which wasn't bad at all! I opened the door to see:
IMG_6857.JPG
So sweet! They put balloons and such on the bed to celebrate our anniversary.
IMG_6859.JPG
Cute little swans, and a card with Snow White! That was such a nice, unexpected touch.

The room itself was really nice - not quite as unusual as our previous room, but very nice.

The view:

IMG_6863.JPG
Nice little balcony with a view of the entrance (or exit?).

Also, look at this cute little touch:

a boat on the toilet paper roll! :)

Room checked out and approved, I took a nap for a bit. Well, tried - I dozed for a little bit and then Trevor and I were texting, and then I watched Bluey for a bit. It was great.

In the meantime, Trevor had been looking in the various gift shops, and then rode Forbidden Journey in the meantime:
PXL_20250130_212254371.jpg
He then got sucked in in the gift shop and bought a Marauder's Map pillow and shirt. :)

My plan for the evening was to head to Animal Kingdom to watch Tree of Life Awakenings, with the park closing at 6. I did want to stay at the hotel until 5 though, when they started serving dinner in the club lounge. I figured I'd risk it, so at 5 pm on the dot, I was in the lounge (to be fair, I wasn't the only one. :) )

75 minutes at Animal Kingdom! - Thursday January 30th 2025 (part 11)

More food offerings:
IMG_6871.JPG
Shrimp cocktail; cucumber salad.

IMG_6872.JPG
Charcuterie.

Not a bad spread! The parker house rolls weren't the same as in the Ale & Compass Lounge, but still good. I grabbed a smattering of things, wolfed them down, and headed down to the bus stop. At the bus stop, it said the next Animal Kingdom bus wouldn't come for 20 minutes. Boooooo - that meant I'd arrive 15 min before closing. Which was probably fine, but just later than I was hoping. I kept debating whether or not to uber, but really I just wanted to see the show on the Tree of Life, so I ended up waiting for the bus. It arrived at 5:25, and despite the bus stopping at the Boardwalk, we got there at 5:45.
IMG_6877.JPG
Arriving 15 min before closing means no entry lines. :D

While I was on the bus, Trevor rode Velocicoaster - he got the front row! And since I find this hilarious - his heart rate in line was 84 bpm, but at the end of the ride, it was 101! Definitely a thrill ride. :D

Since I still had a few min before park closing and the Tree of Life Awakenings show wouldn't start until at least 6:30 (since it was too late), I decided to head back and ride Everest! Why not. :)

IMG_6882.JPG
First time I've ever noticed this height marker - the kids are measured in yeti feet. :D Absolutely no line, which was super nice. :)
IMG_6883.JPG
2025-01-30 - Disneys Animal Kingdom Park - Expedition everest legend of the forbidden mountain.jpeg
They close up Everest fast - I got off the ride at 6:01 and walked VERY quickly to the front of the line and they were already closed up. Oh well! At least I got one ride. :) I headed to the front of the park, while Trevor was grabbing food:
PXL_20250130_232056169.jpg
Classic theme park burger. :) I think my dinner in the lounge was better.

At the front of the park, there were kind of a lot of people!
IMG_6888.JPG
I was surprised by how many people there were. I didn't realize people were that interested? But cool! They kicked off the Tree of Life shows at about 6:40ish.

Yes, I stayed for all three. It's just such a cool show idea - I love it. :) When the shows were over, a little after 7, I headed out of the park and decided to go to Epcot. I had a couple FARTS booths I still wanted to hit, so I figured a second dinner from FARTS booths would be a good idea.

Meanwhile, Trevor got in line for Hagrid's! We subscribe to the "hop in line for rides with long lines right before closing" strategy.
PXL_20250131_001008321.jpg
Still took him about an hour, with that line winding around outside, but better at night vs in the hot sun. :)

Meanwhile, by 7:35 I was back at Beach Club, heading towards International Gateway. I figured that would be slightly less walking than taking the bus to Epcot and walking back to World Showcase. My first stop? Germany food booth!
IMG_6900.JPG
The line wasn't bad - we'd definitely seen it worse this week.

Round and Round and Round We Go! - Thursday January 30th 2025 (part 12)

7 minutes later, I had my food!
IMG_6901.JPG
I got the short rib and the black forest cake. The short rib was good and tender - not quite fall off your fork, but nice and very good flavor. And I really like the parsnip puree. The cake was also good, but honestly had too many cherries for my liking - I wanted just a little hint of cherries and there was a TON. Probably good for those who do like cherries. :)

I'd gotten a boarding group for Guardians, so after getting the food and eating it, I decided to head over that way. Ending the night with Guardians is always a good thing! But I couldn't help looking in all the art booths. There was a restock of this mini print of the carousel, so I bought that, and some other prints by Caley Hicks. But then I got to the Promenade Gallery and everything was so pretty!
IMG_6904.JPG
IMG_6905.JPG
IMG_6907.JPG
Cute series! I also like how the Snow White one is still in progress there.
IMG_6906.JPG
Sleeping Beauty! I liked this one, but unfortunately, no prints to be had - only originals. It was like $5k, and even I can't justify that for something I don't LOVE BEYOND MEASURE. And even then.... :)

Then I got to Guardians and it was down. Womp womp. It was about 8:20, so rather than hang around, I did another crazy thing - I'd seen on instagram that Disney springs had the new Cinderella 70th collection, so I decided what the heck, I head over to Disney Springs! So I started heading to the front of the park. I took some pictures:
2025-01-31 - Epcot - Epcot entrance_4.jpeg
2025-01-31 - Epcot - Epcot entrance.jpeg
Then one of the light shows on Spaceship Earth started so I stayed and watched that.
IMG_6909.JPG
When it was done, the app said Guardians was back up so I was like "forget Disney Springs!" and I headed back that way.
IMG_6911.JPG
This was the line. I bailed immediately. No way - that's gotta be at LEAST an hour in line. Back to Disney Springs it was. :)

Trevor meanwhile had just made it back to the hotel, and he was checking out the late night snack offerings:
PXL_20250131_020432655.jpg
cupcakes!
(dang picture limit!)

Beach Club Desserts and a Foolish Trip to Disney Springs - Thursday January 30th 2025 (part 13)

More snacks:
PXL_20250131_020440702.jpg
Peanut Butter Marshmallow Maracron
PXL_20250131_020448513.jpg
Muffins/pastries

PXL_20250131_020455957.jpg
Fruit

PXL_20250131_020512864.jpg
Cookies!

Trevor grabbed himself some snacks and enjoyed the fireworks from the lounge:
PXL_20250131_021318617.jpg
Definitely a unique view. :)

Meanwhile, I'd made it back to the front of Epcot and called for an uber. I took a chance and called for it while I was still a ways from the rideshare area, but it worked out cause the uber was 8 minutes away. I hate waiting. LOL But pretty soon, I was walking into Disney Springs:
IMG_6914.JPG
I was walking over to Disney Style cause I thought that's where the Cinderella collection was.
IMG_6916.JPG
Saw this step and repeat as I was walking over - go Sam!

No Cinderella collection at Disney Style, so I headed over to check the Marketplace and hit success! They had the Cinderella sweatshirt I was interested in, but they only had XS or XXXL, and XXXL was too big even for me, especially since it was already meant to be loose/oversized. Loose/oversized + being too large - it was crazy big. I decided against buying it. Oh well!

Headed to the bus stop and OF COURSE, Beach Club was the furthest bus stop away. As it feels like is always the case when you're tired and it's late at night. And weirdly enough it wasn't my feet hurting, but my knees?! I blame the water park. :) I ended up waiting about 10 min for the bus, which wasn't bad.
IMG_6920.JPG
By 10:25, I was back at the hotel. Though not gonna lie, at the end of a long day, I really hate how far away the Beach Club bus stop is from the hotel - such a trek when one is tired!

But back in the room, dessert service at stopped but Trevor had gotten me some strawberries, so that was delightful. And we had Beach Club chocolates!
IMG_6922.JPG
IMG_6923.JPG
(only one more post, I promise!)

Good Night Chocolates - Thursday January 30th 2025 (part 14)

Since we had two, of course we had to sample them right away (and by we, I mean I was definitely the instigator :) ):
IMG_6924.JPG
IMG_6925.JPG
IMG_6926.JPG
Yea I took no notes on what these fillings were, but they were good. :)

Overall, Trevor and I had both had fun days. He had done lots of rides and so had I. And of course, delightful club level snacks! Tomorrow though, time to go home.

Fun with Metrics:
Steps walked: 26531 steps (10.4 miles)
Ride count: 8 for me, 5 for Trevor, though Trevor probably did ride more he just didn't tell me about/take pictures of (Me: Jungle Cruise, Tiana's Bayou Adventure x2, Haunted Mansion, Tron, Buzz Lightyear x2, Everest, Trevor: VillainCon, the Mummy, Men in Black, Forbidden Journey, Hagrids)
Annual Pass Savings: $23.30

Beach Club Club Breakfast #2 - Friday January 31st 2025 (part 1)

Our last day! Sadness. But our flight wasn't until like 9 pm so we had some park time ahead of us. First off though, had to pack! Actually, that's a lie - first up, breakfast in the lounge. :)
IMG_6927.JPG
IMG_6928.JPG
Sausage and little quiche things with mickey shaped cheese on top!

IMG_6929.JPG
pancakes

IMG_6930.JPG
Yogurts

IMG_6931.JPG
Eggs and salmon and such

I got the little quiche thing, and sausages:
IMG_6932.JPG
IMG_6935.JPG
And some fruit and pancakes - Trevor got yogurt/oatmeal stuff too.
IMG_6936.JPG
It was a pretty good breakfast! I liked the quiche thing especially. All goodness. And I will say that while the lounge was pretty small without a ton of seats we never weren't able to get a seat. All the seats were filled but we always got one.

Ok, back to the room to actually start packing. But first, view from the window/balcony!
IMG_6938.JPG

You can *kind* of see Stormalong Bay over there through the trees but it was being refurbed so... *shrugs*

Heading to Animal Kingdom - Friday January 31st 2025 (part 2)

We actually got packed up for the airport pretty quickly - sometimes it takes me FOREVER to pack for airport and sometimes not, and this time it wasn't that much! Yay! I guess moving rooms the night before maybe helped a bit? :)

The plan today was Animal Kingdom, so off to the bus stop we went! We made it down to the bus stop at about 9:30, and while the app said that the next bus for Animal Kingdom was at 9:37, but at 9:32, it pulled up!
IMG_6943.JPG
And it was a Tiana's bus, so that was fun. :)

As we got on the bus, we got a notification that our flight that night was delayed. It was supposed to now take off at 10:30pm, which was about when it was supposed to land. And as we put on our Sherlock Holmes hat, the incoming plane was still on time, so we weren't sure what was causing the delay. We had a bit of a debate - do we go later to the airport or do we still go as if it hadn't been delayed because they could still cancel the delay? It's frustrating that you can't wholly trust in-advance delays. So we'd just be monitoring it throughout the day.

Anyways, at 9:53, we were tapping in to Animal Kingdom!
IMG_6944.JPG
Using that Annual Passholder entrance. :) We were heading towards the Safari for our Lightning Lane, but as we walked in, we saw DiVine!
IMG_6948.JPG
IMG_6949.JPG
So neat - if you get a chance to see her, take a couple minutes.

Anyways, we kept walking! We had a Flight of Passage Lightning Lane that night for 5:55 which obviously wouldn't work, but I bought it anyways thinking that we'd be able to move it earlier, or worst case I'd just talk to Guest Services and ask if they could move it earlier. As we were walking though, I checked and was able to move it up to 1:55! Still a bit later than I wanted but not bad at all.

We saw a photographer out by the Otter area, so of course had to get some pictures.

That's Trevor eating my ears....*shrugs* :D Including mostly cause I thought it was funny. :)

Over at the Safari, there was a pretty good crowd:
IMG_6952.JPG
But thankfully no actual line in the Lightning Lane:
PXL_20250131_150358804.jpg
Yay fastpasses. :D

It was about a 10 minute wait, but then we were on the ride:
PXL_20250131_151312413.jpg
And then we were off!

Earth Safari and then Pandora Safari - Friday January 31st 2025 (part 3)

Honestly, we had a pretty great safari - the animals were very active, so that was neat.

PXL_20250131_151731155.jpg
PXL_20250131_151821559.jpg
My favorite part thought was being able to see the baby elephant!
PXL_20250131_152740120.jpg
There in the foreground -

So cute. :)

PXL_20250131_153009235.jpg
We even saw the cheetahs!
PXL_20250131_153104543.jpg
sleeeeeepy lion. It me. :)

After the safari, which was wonderful, we had scored a Navi River Journey fastpass so we decided to head into Pandora the back way (from Africa). They had the sound effects turned WAY up, which was startling at first but was cool as we got used to it. Helps with the illusion that we're on the Isle of Moa'ra. :)

We did a quick restroom stop, and by we I mean me. But while I was in there, Trevor was checking the app to see if he could move up our Flight of Passage fastpass and he got one for 11 am! Which was 9 minutes in the future. :) Trevor was very very proud of himself, as he should be. :D So that was exciting.

Navi River Journey was fun - we got the second row but still had a lovely cruise.
IMG_6963.JPG
My ears glowed in the dark!
PXL_20250131_160035876.jpg
well, the balloons did. :)

I like Navi River Journey - I think it gets a bad rap just cause of how long the line normally is, but if you get a fastpass, its definitely worth the wait.

That shaman is just awesome.

Afterwards we were going to Flight of Passage but there was a photographer there by the waterfall so of course we had to stop.

The Secret to Trevor's Heart - Friday January 31st 2025 (part 4)

And one more:
2025-01-31 - Disneys Animal Kingdom Park - Pandora the world of avatar.jpeg

We tapped in at Flight of Passage at 11:08, and there was no wait, just walked up to the tap point. We got sent down the ramp and then got pulled out of line WAY far back, because we were the only party of two. And even better, we got spots 7 and 8, which put us right in the middle, aka the best view. Yay!!!
PXL_20250131_161406343.jpg
I was pretty excited, despite this picture where Trevor is doing a good smile and I'm clearly trying to see if the camera was actually working. Oops. LOL

There must have been something going on in one of the other theatres, because we sat waiting to start for several minutes. But eventually off we went!

I always like trying to film the ride from the storage bins, just cause it's so cool to me to see how much this ride moves around. This one didn't turn out amazing, but meh, still cool.

As we got off the ride, we headed over to Pongu Pongu for another snack on our list!
IMG_6966.JPG
What were we looking for?
IMG_6969.JPG
The Navi Sized pretzel with beer cheese sauce. If you're new here, Trevor LOVES pretzels. LOVES them. His favorite at Disneyworld is the one in Germany (it made his whole year when he was given a free one on his birthday last year :D). So when I saw that they had brought a pretzel to Pongu Pongu (and it looked very reminiscent of the Germany one) I knew we had to try it.
IMG_6971.JPG
Trevor's initial verdict was "it's warm and soft!" I asked if it was better than the pretzel at Germany in World Showcase and he said that it was very similar, and basically the same, but the Germany one is a bit tougher and this one is softer and more bread-y. The Germany one is fresh but not usually warm, and this one is warm which he really liked. Yay!

I got the frozen Night Blossom:
IMG_6968.JPG
cause why not.

Next up, Everest! We had a fastpass so we started heading that way. :) As we walked, Trevor was like happy dancing and humming to himself as he ate his pretzel so I apparently just need to take him to Disney and give him a warm, giant pretzel cause that apparently makes everything better. So cute :D

Over at Everest, we got row 13!
2025-01-31 - Disneys Animal Kingdom Park - Expedition everest legend of the forbidden mounta...jpeg
Sleepy time! :)

We got off right after 12 noon, and we were hungry! Where to? Nomad Lounge, obviously. :D I was hoping the line wouldn't be too bad, but no way to find out except to get there. Everest is too far away to join the walk up list, in case you were curious.

As we were walking to the front though, we saw Kevin!
IMG_6983.JPG
IMG_6984.JPG
Seriously I love Kevin so much. Such an awesome character to have walking around - you'll be going about your day and then you just see out of nowhere Kevin's head bebopping around. Brilliant. :)

As we got near the front, I was able to join the walkup list and they said 10 minute wait. Not bad at all! So we kept meandering over there but we got distracted by animals!

We saw a little bunny rabbit looking thing:
PXL_20250131_171304918.jpg

And we also saw turtles/tortoises!

One of the tortoises was aggressively trying to eat the face of the other tortoise. Not sure why?

Also I realized right after I finished that video clip that Nomad Lounge has basically texted us immediately and we were going to be late! Oops! We made it with like 1 minute to spare, but then we asked for an outside table and they said that would be a bit of an additional wait. So we were just hanging out in the shade.

Nomad Lounge Lunch - Friday January 31st 2025 (part 5)

It wasn't a very long wait - maybe 5 minutes? But it was worth it!
IMG_6988.JPG
We love sitting outside at Nomad when it's not horribly hot. It was a bit far back so we couldn't really see the river but now that they've stopped the flotillas that's less worrisome.

We started with two Lilly Gorillies: Strawberry and Sprite
IMG_6993.JPG
Also, we may have eaten at Nomad too much - I knew what drink we got by this picture alone. LOL

Then we got the Cuban Frita Sliders: Shoestring Potatoes, Spiced Ketchup, Yuca Fries, Sour Orange Mojo
IMG_6995.JPG
Delicious as always.

Also the Tuna Poke bowl:
IMG_6996.JPG

We were still a bit hungry after those two dishes, so we decided to branch out and we ordered off the Tiffin's menu: the Gobi Manchurian: Crispy-fried Cauliflower, Manchurian Sauce, Green Onion
IMG_6997.JPG
This was good! I wanted more green onions, but I love green onions. It was crispy and a good tangy/spicy sauce. My only complaint is that it was SUPER hot. (temperature hot not spicy hot). (though it was a bit spicy hot too).
IMG_6998.JPG
Time honored tradition of naptime at Nomad. Sleeeeeeeeeepy Trevor. :) This was right before I woke him up, cause we had places to be! Where next? It's Tough to Be a Bug! It was closing soon and Trevor had never done it so I figured he needed to try it. Also, even if he hated the show you get to see some of the animals on the Tree of Life super up close, which is awesome.
IMG_7004.JPG
IMG_7005.JPG
My favorite part of It's Tough to Be a Bug is not the show either, but rather the parody show posters. I'm a huge musical theatre nerd, so these show posters are just my absolute favorite thing. Because it's my trip report, I am indeed going to include ALL of them. #yourewelcome #sorrynotsorry

This one is my favorite:

IMG_7011.JPG
My Fair Lady

IMG_7012.JPG
Little Shop of Horrors

IMG_7014.JPG
A Streetcar Named Desire

IMG_7015.JPG
West Side Story

Ok that's all of them. But honestly, absolutely my favorite. I was dying looking at all of them and the puns and such. So fun!!

The show itself was fine - the one thing I noticed was that the Hopper animatronic wasn't working. But we got sprayed with a lot of water, and of course the creepy bugs in the bench. Trevor was mostly just like "what was that". Which is a fair reaction I think. I'll be curious to see what Zootopia is like! (it is Zootopia, right?)

At this point, it was a little before 2 pm, and since we didn't have to be back at the room until about 5:30, we had some time! So where to go? Everest! the lines were super short, for some reason, so we figured why the heck not.

As we headed back there, we ran into a photographer by the water in front of the Everest mountain, but he ended up taking some candids - no idea why, just some fun Disney magic. :)

Lost explorers. :)

Honestly it was awesome! I love Everest, and now that I've got Trevor to like it too, it was super fun to just loop it and get that thrill over and over. Brilliant. No notes. :)
PXL_20250131_195720079.jpg
See? Look at those smiles. :)

We had just enough time for one more ride here, so we went over to...
IMG_7053.JPG
Dinosaur! Why not.

IMG_7060.JPG
And bonus, we actually got to ride and it didn't break down! Yay! For some reason I didn't get my ride photo though. Bummer. We had fun in the gift shop though - they had this whole series of cartoon dinosaurs that we were dying laughing at.
IMG_7062.JPG
This had me cracking up - if they had this as a magnet or something we absolutely would have bought it (we have enough t-shirts) (we have enough magnets too but magnets are small). :)

Pictures and a Couple Final Rides at Epcot - Friday January 31st 2025 (part 8)

At this point, we figured we'd head back to the hotel by way of Epcot - I got us a fastpass for Spaceship Earth cause how could we do so many days at Epcot and not ride Spaceship Earth?! So to the bus stops we headed. We ran into Kevin again in the dinosaur area, so we waved but kept moving. And then we figured we should get some photos with the Tree of Life and the photographer we saw didn't have a huge line so we stopped.

Maaaybe a bit far back to be considered Tree of Life pictures, but it worked. :)

No idea what this magic shot is doing but still fun. :)

At the bus stop there were a LOT of people but we only had to wait about 5 min for the bus and we all fit on it! Since Trevor and I were at the end of the line we had to stand, but I'll take it. :) After all, we'd be able to sit at Spaceship Earth.
We got to Epcot and were walking in but of course I made us stop for pictures!

I was really trying to get the Figment magic shot with the heart but this one is still pretty cute.

Then, Spaceship Earth!

As soon as we tapped in, I decided to test our luck again and we got a Soarin' fastpass for right then - yay!!!!!

Spaceship Earth was great. Always gotta thank those Phoenicians. :)

The camera caught Trevor but not me? So his future just doesn't include me at all. Womp womp. We then booked it over to Soarin!
IMG_7084.JPG
They split us up a bit which we didn't mind - Trevor got row 3 on the end and I got row 2. And I can't remember if we were B or C...probably C? Still had fun. :)

Trevor was being funny taking a picture of me. :)

At this point it was 5:05, and our flight had been moved up 30 min to 9:30. So I decided to live dangerously, and we decided to head for the hotel but with a stop at France on our way, to see if Remy was doing single rider! Maybe we could quick do that and then grab a quick dinner at the lounge before heading out. As we walked back there, we passed the folks in Canada doing a show:

Sometime we should really sit and catch the whole thing. But not today! Though honestly we should have just stayed and watched the show cause when we got to Remy, this was the single rider line.
IMG_7088.JPG
All the way backed up outside!!!

Yea no. We bailed - ain't nobody got time for that. And it worked out, gave us a bit more time back at the the hotel. We were hungry, so straight to the lounge we went.

Focaccia

A really good spread, actually! The hot dogs were good - unexciting but good. The chicken tacos were surprisingly fresh and light - the tortillas were a bit dry but otherwise delish. Trevor liked the shrimp roll (I didn't try it). The focaccia had good glavor but was dry, sadly. But the star of the show - for me - was the bruschetta. It was SO GOOD. I ate so many of them. Just so so so so good. Yum.

Eventually though, it was time to leave and grab our bags. We left the lounge and went downstairs to get our bags. I don't know what was going on at Bell Services but they took a LONG time to get our bags. We literally waited 15 minutes, which is crazy cause normally its like 2/3 minutes. But they finally came and we did some last minute rearranging. I did decide to keep the snow white balloon, cause adorbs.

Wasn't sure if the airline would let me take it on but I figured I could at least ask!

We called for the uber at 6:55 which was definitely later than I was planning but worked out fine - we got to the airport at 7:25 and everything went smoothly with checking in and security. By 7:52 we were at our gate. Originally our flight was supposed to take off at 8:45, but new takeoff was 9:30. The signs at the gate were saying the flight was only 50% full, which yay! We got a full row to ourselves:
IMG_7107.JPG
And also because the flight was empty I got a whole overhead compartment just for the artwork. :D They also let me take the balloon onboard, so yay! Everything was working out. :)

We landed at 11:15, but there was a plane at our gate so we had to wait about 20 minutes. But finally, we got off the plane! Yay!
IMG_7109.JPG
Back to the land of jackets.

Our bags actually came out pretty quickly at baggage claim, which was a pleasant surprise, cause DCA is not always great with bags. But we got our bags about 20 minutes after deplaning, and so at one minute after midnight, we were getting in the uber. And guys, this is where the tragedy of the trip happened. We were loading all the bags into the uber, and the balloon was tied to my personal item (as you can see in the picture above). So I was taking my personal item off the carryon, and somehow the balloon got loose!!! I didn't even realize what had happened for a second, and then all I could do was watch the balloon float away.

Goodbye balloon! You made it all the way back to DC only to be lost right there at the end. Oh well. It was kind of hilarious, actually.

We made it back home just after 12:30 am. A long day, but aside from losing the balloon, a pretty awesome day. :)

Wrap up and Haul! (part 1)

Ok, first up, gotta show all the art!! Several of the artists that we met drew things on the artwork for us, which was super nice and cool. So let's start there. :)

IMG_7122.JPG
Ok this is just some of the art we bought, but you see the Hunchback piece and the Jungle Cruise piece? The artist drew some sketches for us on the back!
IMG_7131.JPG
I'm sure you can guess which is which. I also bought a Haunted Mansion piece by that artist last FARTS and we didn't get to meet him, so I brought that piece with us so he could sign it, and he drew another sketch!
IMG_7113.JPG
Sally! :)

IMG_7126.JPG
More art! But see those 3 postcards on the bottom right? That's Joey Chou art, and he also drew some sketches!
IMG_7127.JPG
Super cute.

IMG_7128.JPG
I LOVE this style, and this is the first year I've seen postcard size vs the larger size. So that was super fun to see, and of course I bought them all. And a couple more sketches!
IMG_7129.JPG
Bianca! He let me pick, which was super nice.

Then I talked about Dylan Bonner and the Haunted Mansion bride piece I wanted from him so badly, but! He had done a piece a few years ago I loved but was sold out when I was there. So I succumbed and bought it on ebay, and brought it for him to sign, which he graciously did:
IMG_7114.JPG
Isn't it cute? I love it.

Then I have to show you the back of my Ashley Taylor Sleeping Beauty tapestry that both Sleeping Beauty and Ashley Taylor signed.
IMG_7118.JPG
Yay! :)

Ok, now back to the rest of the art:
IMG_7121.JPG
Star Wars!

Wrap up and Haul! (part 2)

Ok, art!
IMG_7112.JPG
Ok well this is cheating - these are pieces we bought in previous years but I brought with us this year to get signed. :) All the artists were super happy to sign them, which was nice. I really appreciated it. :)

IMG_7123.JPG
I love maps! :)

Wrap up and Haul! (part 3)

And now the merch!
IMG_7110.JPG
Trevor's Tiana's jacket, and then my Tower of Terror spirit jersey. Also that Pirates shirt up there says "Fear the Beards" - we got three of them, one for Trevor and his dad and brother who both also have beards. :)

IMG_7115.JPG
The Emperor's New Groove shoulder plushes! Thanks Trevor :) And some Blizzard beach merch, and then the dinosaur magnet - it says "Reach for the stars...oh" LOL

IMG_7117.JPG
Trevor got several things from the Universal passholder store, but I also put my Haunted Mansion ears in there, as well as the balloon weights - I at least still have those, if not the balloon itself. :)

IMG_7119.JPG
IMG_7120.JPG
Snacks! The drinks and popcorn are from our After Hours events, and then the rice krispies are from the Wonderful Walk of Colorful Cuisine, and then chocolates from Beach Club. Yum. :)

Ok, that's the haul! Thanks for reading - sorry this one dragged out a bit. I was trying to finish it so second apology for the flood of posts in the last day or so. But we really had a great FARTS trip - they're all great, honestly. I got all the art I wanted, met so many awesome artists, and just really had a fun, relaxing Disney vacation. Our annual pass expires in August and Trevor's already asking if we're going to do FARTS again in 2026 cause if so we should renew and honestly, I'm so torn! Its always just such a nice trip to FARTS with gorgeous weather and art...I dunno what to do! (honestly I think I know i'll probably end up going but..... :) )
