2004 is not starting out good.

My dad just committed suicide.

If anyone can help, we can use all the help we can get. We have little idea of what to do now, how to handle things, we know we're going to have to sell most of my mom's stuff. Any help, we'd appreciate. Work and my IL's are helping as well, but anything.

And, obviously, prayers.

OMG Tammi, when I read your thread this morning, nothing like this crossed my mind. Now reading this thread, my heart just broke for you. I am so so so so sorry for your loss. I will be praying for you and your family.

I wish there was more I could do. Lots and lots of hugs.

I just wanted to add, break this all down into small steps. Don't worry about selling things and such yet. Get through this first. And if you need to talk, we are all here, whether on the board or in private.

I will indeed be needing to talk to people online. I don't grieve well in person, online communication always helps me more. Just being there will help.

For anyone who's been through this, any advice you can give we'd appreciate.

He left my mom not well off (unless, very unlikely, any of the life insurance comes through) and we're going to have to find out how to handle that.

I still can't believe it.

I know there's probably nothing I could have done, but I keep thinking that if I'd been able to talk to him, he would have been okay.

Tammi, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Suicide is so hard to accept and explain. I agree with Miss Jasmine, just take it one day at a time. Don't overwhelm yourself with what needs done next week, or even tomorrow. Remember that you have many, many friends here in the Dis that are praying for you and your family. You can get through this, even if you think you can't.
