Thansk everyone for the replies and votes. I'm sticking with the waitlist for VWL for 70 points. I called my gude yesterday and after going over several things with him and then showing it to my hubby VWl won out. Realy I think that would ahve been the only one he woudl ahve evn agreed to in the first place, but I've talked him into other thinsg before sooo... ;)

BUT, my guide told me last week it woudl probably only be a couple weeks before the waitlist came through, yesterday he told me it woudl be awhile! So, I'm a littel disappointed and confused! :(

We're awfully close to our banking deadline so if it does coem thruough for us after I'll have to rent!

Plus, at what point woudl I not want to be on the waitlist anymore? Any horror stories out there? What is the tpyical waitlist tiem frame?

Thanka again all!

Shan,

Take the pressure off. If you Dh wants VWL, then do it. Especially if he already compromised on your first resort. Stop the second guessing and fence hopping. If he's willing to mkae the call, let him. Go with it. You cant go wrong.

My DH only would consider buying at the VWL. He did this for me in 2001. We bought 250 pts. I'm so glad that we bought there! DH is happy at the villas(and he isn't crazy about WDW in general) but we recently bought at the BCV for the use of SAB and the Epcot proximity. VWL are very peaceful and to be able to stay there during the Holidays is great. I vote for you to wait until points come available for VWL and if you still think you need SSR, buy it later! Your husband will love it!

YIKES! Old thread, funny it got bumped. I guess I should update.
We ended up just adding on at BCV. The waitlist for our use year was very long at VWL and after talking to someone on this board who had also been waiting I estimated it would take about a year and a half for it to come through, about what my guide had told me. When I heard BCV was about to sell out I got nervous. I called and sure enough ended up on another waitlist. It came through in just a few days, I'm assuming from a contract that fell through. So anyway, the add on was actually recorded on 10/1. We now have a 150 BCV contract and a 50 BCV contract. Easy enough to keep up with. Even though my hubby and I love VWL I think it will be a long while before I could ever even talk him into another add on. Thanks everyone!
