I had posted a couple of months ago upset after my second miscarriage that my children would be at least 4 years apart. Then I posted an update that I found out I am pregnant again and was awaiting blood test results. It took way too long to get them, but my results were very good. I kept praying for results that were not borderline. I didn't want to have to wait it out and see what happened. The level needs to double every 203 days, and mine are doubling even faster (1.6 days). The tests were 3 days apart, but were 24 on 11/2; 130 on 11/5; and 470 on 11/8 (today). I am starting to get excited now. I have to schedule an ultrasound the week after Christmas.

Now I just have to figure out when to go back to Disney. 4 months pregnant or with a 4 month old nursling. 1 last trip with my dd who would be 3 years and 7 or 8 months in Feb with unpredictable weather or going with a 4 month old to get those first character pics in Nov.. My dd would be 4 1/2 years by then and possibly (if we make the lottery) in the public preschool 5 days a week. I can't believe I am actually leaning toward waiting until Nov when she will be 4. We went when she was 17 months and 2 1/2.

Congrats and here's to a healthy pregnancy and baby!

There's no bad time to go to WDW. You pick whichever works for you and your family.

Best wishes!

Congratulations on your pregnancy! I wish you a healthy and happy nine months! My first two are 4yrs and 2 months apart. This was not planned, we wanted them closer but it took 18 months to get pregnant the second time. I really wished they could have been closer, but looking back, the 4+ years spacing is, IMO, ideal. Your DD has had lots of individual attention, and with her being in preschool, your new baby will get lots of individual attention too. Four year olds are also old enough to understand a little bit better than say, a two year old, that new babies take up a lot of mommy's time. At that age they can occupy themselves for a short while so you can attend to the baby. When I had my third child, she was born about 2.5yrs after my second, and it was a totally different situation. That's kind of a special case, because unknown to us at the time, but my second DS is autistic and has a borderline IQ, so he was much less able to deal with a new baby than probably a typical 2.5yr old would be, but still, it's a lot harder having two babies than it is having a 4+yr old and a baby.

As for when to go to Disney....just go twice! :rotfl: Seriously, if I had to choose between 4 months pg and going with a 4 month old nursling, I'd definitely go with the 4 month old nursling! Our first family trip was when my second DS was 3.5 months old and nursing, and it was a very easy trip. He was still getting up at night to nurse, so I was a little tired, but not nearly as tired as I was when pg. I would rather go with a new baby and do baby swap than go while pg and not be able to ride the good rides!

Re. Disney, most 4 mth olds travel pretty well and are happy to stay in stroller for long periods of time. But, 4 mths pregnant is a good time too--over MS, but not uncomfortable or other pregnancy related issues yet.
My kids (dd10) and twins (6) are 4 years apart. It is great--here's why. With newborns, it was easy to take DD(4) to library, playgroups, etc., and DD was old enough to listen and behave. When DD was 5, she did some spring activities (soccer, etc.) and babies were perfect age to get out in jogger stroller to go to games.
My twins adore here and she is a good "teacher" for them, from crafts to reading to playing make-believe. There has never been any sibling rivalry. In a perfect world, I would have spaced kids 2 or 3 years apart, but it didn't work out that way, but it has been great!

Congratulations! We just came back from a trip to WDW with my 4 mo old and my 4 year old. Honestly, the 4 month old was easier!! She slept on the plane. She slept in her stroller..and smiled at everyone at restaurants.

Congratulations! I would take the baby at 4 months just because I had such a horrible second pregnancy- vomiting all the time and very little energy until 7 months (notice we only have 2 children...) DH and I also never worried about traveling with infants- they were pretty easy for us, it's the toddler years that were challenging for travel! Good luck with your decision and your pregnancy!
