I posted an article about a rumor that WDW might begin requiring a credit card to secure all dining reservations: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2275590.

Within that thread, IMACM posted here:

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2275590&page=3

and here:

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2275590&page=4

that the switch to 180-day ADRs might begin Sep. 27th instead of Oct. 27th

AND...

that WDW has added extra work hours to the CMs schedules beginning on Sep. 27th

AND...

that there may be a "huge campaign dropping on Sep. 27th."

:confused3Have you heard anything about these three rumors?

I didn't scour the other threads, so please forgive me if I've missed the obvious..
But what makes you think it's about the ADR switch? Isn't the 27th the one year anniversary of PI/AC closing??

IMACM speculated that it could be the 180 switch coming early, because of the CM overtime.

I don't think whatever it is will have anything to do with PI, simply because there'd be no need for any CM overtime based on an announcement about changes to PI. The date is just coincidental.

The timing I'm not dismissing as coincidence just yet is that 9/27 is also the day after the current free dining offer expires, and the current offer became available on the heels of the previous code. And unlike the future of PI, a new discount offer might require extra hours for call center CMs.

Still no update....you all will probably know before me anyway!!! I am starting to hear chatter about a new promo on 9/27 but NO ONE is talking! I still feel it's 180 dining though, I could be wrong but it will be the 1st time as far as Disney goes

Thanks, IMACM, for checking-in with us over here:thumbsup2

We'll be sure to keep you updated if we hear anything:lmao:

Hopin' to see something juicy, with the UG site reporting the rumor now too...

Well jeez.... popcorn:: I will be living here till the 27th when the "big announcment" hits.. I hope it isn't that the bathrooms at WDW are gonna be remodeled.. (though get with the magical non touch paper towel dispensers already)

I'm actually going to be away for the weekend and offline completely the 26th & 27th, which is why I'm stalking the boards for any tidbit I can get now! :surfweb:

I just went to look at my "saved offers" of trips that I'd priced out on the website.... and they all now expire on 9/27! uh, isn't that strange?!

:scratchinHmmm... Interesting detective work - you might be on to something!

Well, maybe WDW will throw that in the mix just to liven things up a bit. But, IMACM might be getting lots of PMs if that is the case:sad2:

The closing date for PI was chosen because that was the last day of the Fiscal Year 08/09 (Disney's fiscal year does not follow the calendar year, but rather the date that it opened--Oct. 1st, 1971). Looking at the calendar, it would seem that their new fiscal year (09/10) will start on Sept. 27th.

I just saved a vacation today and the date that they expire is oct 23rd. If there is a March discount then I will be booking my trip on Sunday.

That may be true, but the point is why is the new announcement on that day?*It seems coincidental that it's on the date the club closed, but we shall see.

To be honest, I don't think I understand this whole thread, but that's just me.

The deadline for booking "free dining" for dates thru 12/17 is later this week. I think they'll announce another new promotion to try and bolster business through the holiday season.

I have a trip planned for the last week of October and based upon limited anecdotal evidence, I think business is slow. This past weekend I added 2 ADRs to our schedule just 5 weeks out and had no problem getting good times. Booked a 12 noon lunch and had a choice of 5:20 or 6pm dinner another time. I looked at other restaurant options and everything I plugged in came back with open slots during prime dining hours. That's at restaurants like Sci-Fi, Yak & Yeti and Plaza Restaurant.

That seems to go counter to most of the "free dining" periods and has lead me to think that the promotion hasn't been terribly successful this time around. Perhaps all of the usual free dining crowd stuck to their normal Aug-Sept vacation window.

Maybe I'm wrong but based upon the ending date of the current promotion and the comments about ramping-up staffing, I think the big topic Monday will be a new discount offer. Won't help us but I'm curious to see what they come up with.
