I just booked a cruise thru DU, Oct. 04 in a cat. 10 - I was lucky & got a secret porthole room. My SIL wanted to go too so I told her to email Dreams & guess what -- she got a quote for $100 less than me. She didn't get a SPR but still a cat. 10. What's really strange is that when we checked All Seas Travel, their rate was $25 less than DU after rebate. But being devoted to this website that price difference is worth it to me.

I'm wondering if DU is lowering their rates to be competitive with All seasons. b

From what I've seen the prices are usually the same other than any credit or rebate issues. Are there differences in ages of the people, especially kids? Remember at 13, kids are counted as adults though the difference there is usually $200 for a 7 day cruise though less for 3 and 4 days. There are also discounts to be had at times that one might qualify for and another might not. If the difference is truly $100 and there's no explanation, I'd contact DU. If the price has decreased, they should reduce your final bill too.

yes if the price has gone down they will let u know , but i would contact them with your story.... and get them to give u the price.... peter

Hi trelorf

Please contact the agent who priced your cruise and explain your concerns about the price. This way he/she can look into it for you and let you know why their is a price difference at all.

As some have mentioned many factors play into pricing - including actual ages of the children at the time they travel etc.

Also, please make sure that you mention that you will be traveling together so the agent can ensure your reservations are linked together.

Or if you like you can contact me at john@dreamsunlimitedtravel.com

Thanks
John

This seems strange to me!!! My kids are 8 & 12. My BIL kid's are 5 & 8. I would think that for the same dates of travel & same category the price should be the same. But the person who took my reservation is telling me there is a $100 difference.

BUT will your kids be 8 and 12 at sailing time, OR 9 and 13?

If 13 then there is your difference.

The ages of the children are more than likely your difference.

Next Oct. when we cruise kids will be 8 & 12 (as a matter of fact my son will just 12 the month before we cruise. It would be a $200 price difference if he would have been 13, not just $100, right???

Then you should contact John. His email is above in his post.

You need to contact John for sure.

I did this recently with regards to price difference and he sorted it all out for me and I have to say I was pleased I contacted him it saved me more money.

Let us know how you get on.

I just thought everyone might want to know how this situation turned out. Evidently my brother-in-laws quote was $100 less than mine because of DU having quoted him a "group space" amount & at the time I booked (just a week earlier), "group space" was not available.

I don't know but it still seems strange to me - they are giving me the lesser rate & have me now booked under group space but still the same room # (5024).

Thanks for everyone's help & suggestions.

Well now then, that's terrific!

Happy cruising at $100 less!:bounce: :Pinkbounc

Glad it worked out for you.

Now split the money between konk coolers and B-I-N-G-O

Have fun
Joanna
