Hey....we just got off the Magic yesterday and I will post a detailed trip report and many, many pics...but I just wanted to say we had a fantastic week which went by way too fast.

This was our 10th DCL cruise and we were with two couples who had never cruised before I was able to experience the newness once again in their eyes...it was wonderful.

We met several Diser's onboard and a special hello to Riker's Mom (whom we have sailed with before), MinnieMom (we met on the boarding line and became instant friends), and Lotsofboys (happened to be sitting right next to us on Castaway Cay!). Sorry I did not get to meet more Diser's onboard but we were running to and from every activity onboard!!!

We also were sailing with MJ. The trip was amazing. The weather and water temperatures on all the islands were perfect. This was our first cruise and we rebooked onboard. I had to keep reminding myself that it was OK that we couldn't do it all. We were sorry that we weren't able to do more with people from this board but we were travelling with extended family that were a bit shy. I was a bit disappointed with our servers and the character breakfast but everything else meet or exceeded my expectations.

The movies that were showing were - Miracle, Spy Kids 3D, Pirates of the Caribbean, Brother Bear, Cold Creek Manor, Freaky Friday, Finding Nemo, Teachers Pet, Under the Tuscan Sun, Cold Mountain, Haunted Mansion, and Calendar Girls.

tpseller....I will post pics with the trip report but can tell you that the Doubletree was fine. The only thing I was disappointed in was when I asked for the cocktails and then breakfast the next morning I was told that was only for Doubletree "Club" members staying on a specific floor. I mentioned that I did not see that stipulation on their website...but I could have missed it.

They told us we could upgrade to the 6th floor (we were on the 5th floor) for an additional $50 and it would include cocktails in the evening and breafast in the morning. We declined as the upgrade would have cost more than the room price we paid!!!

We stopped at ABC Liquors in Cocoa Beach (they have 2 locations) and bought on our own "cocktails" and had Dunkin Donuts breafast in the morning.

The hotel itself is very nice...rooms were spacious and clean with a micro and mini fridge and two double beds. There was an iron and ironing board in the closet.

We were all set for a late evening dip in the hot tub when we found out there is no hot tub on premises, but the pool looked very nice. I would definitely stay there again, expecially at $39.00 per night!!!!

MJ, it was so great to meet you and for everyone who has never met her, she is even more sweet and more wonderful in person than she is on these boards, I know that is hard to believe because she is the BEST. The coincidence of sitting next to you on Castaway Cay is amazing, my mother has always been skeptical about the amount of time I spend on these boards, but after she met you and your wonderful husband she finally understands

Sbatty, sorry to here about your server experience, especially on your first cruise. But I am glad to hear you rebooked, what date did you pick? We rebooked Feb 12, 2005, but are hoping we will be able to move it to the summer when and if they ever announce they are bringing the Magic over here to California

Wasn't our weather picture perfect? We went middle of summer on our first cruise and it was too hot, this time it couldn't have been more delightful. Wish I was back there now............

What a wonderful trip. First cruise ever and lucky enough to run into mmouse37 . I can't tell you how wonderful it was. Didn't book another one, hoping it will come out to California first. Please Please Please..... MJ and family were fantastic. Couldn't have asked for finer dinning companions. It was so great to have someone there with so much love for life and Disney, that it was great having a PRO show it all to you on your first trip. Sorry some of you didn't have good servers, We had the BEST. I have tried to stay away since we just got home, and found myself being pulled into this computer and this website. I thought it would stop once I got back, but NOPE. Here I am late at night again. I want to go again, and I want to take my whole family back, I am hoping for California. Then MJ, you can come out and sail with me on my coast. Minniemoms

My mother was the same way until she met some of my DISboard friends and realized how wonderful they are in person! So great to share our friendships with others!!!

Second time posting on this board and am still trying to find my way around!! I am lucky enough to be related to mmouse37!!! YAHOOOO!!!! I agree that she can make sunshine out of a rainy day, but this cruise on the Magic (2/7-2/14) was perfect in every way. I only wish my kids could have been with us!!!! Cannot wait to share all as I "whistle while I work" tomorrow!

Hi Everyone – I want to stress that we really did have an amazing time. When I said we were a bit disappointed with our serving team. I really mean just a bit . It is sort of the same kind of disappointment you feel when you don’t get a free upgrade. You can’t really be upset because you are going on a cruise and you are getting exactly what you paid for but wouldn’t it have been nice if . . .? The service we had was perfectly acceptable. Something I would not hesitate to tip 15% for (but nothing I would have tipped extra for). Our servers were just a bit off. Nothing that really would stand out on its own or that was even that important. The dessert was served without any utensils, the butter for the Lobster was offered after the lobster was ½ eaten, etc. I realize all of these things are incredibly small things. I am not sure I would even have noticed if I hadn’t been traveling with my MIL. She has cruised a lot and couldn’t help comparing with her other experiences. She just wasn’t impressed with the service. I started looking around the dining room and I was amazed at the level of service at some of the other tables. I saw servers interacting with the kids, lots of smiles, magic tricks, and silly hats. On the last night we shook hands with our servers and thanked them. As we left we watched all the hugs and sad good byes. In truth I think I was just jealous.

Yes, it does take a while to navigate around (but it's pretty easy once you get the hang of it) and once you start reading and posting....well, there is a 12 step program for us, but none of us think we have a problem!!!!!

Lotsofboys, We rebooked for the week before you. I didn't have a school calendar with me so we just picked a date. We loved the Eastern and thought the sea days were as much fun as the port days. We are considering trasferring our reservations when the summer dates were available. However, the weather was so nice for our trip I worry that summer will be too hot.

That's so funny because the cruise I took my Mom on last Dec. my Mom looked at me like I was nuts! We were walking through Route66 and I passed heart4dis -- recognized her from her lime green button and the picture she sent to me before the cruise.

We started to pass each other when I said, "I'M A DISr!!!! What's your name????" And she said, "heart4dis VICKY"!!! And I shouted, "I'm CRSNDSNY!!!!" And we hugged. My Mom just stood there looking very very perplexed. Afterwards she said, "How did you know her???" I said -- "THE INTERNET!!! The most wonderful boards!"

Amazing how we can just wear a certain color or insignia, or recall from a photo the friends we have made! I was standing in line and right behind me was RikersMom and her husband! We had "met" on line and decided to be dining mates and there we were!!!

Ya' just gotta love a good idea!
