sbatty, our first cruise was the Eastern over the 4th of July and it was miserably hot. We had a verandah room and never used it because it was just too darn hot. We only picked Feb 12 because we've done two Easterns and thought we'd try the Western, but I do have to say I enjoy the extra days at sea like you!

Welcome to the board. It was soooooo great cruisin with you and your DH. He is a riot. My DH sure had a great time with you and your DH and MJ and her DH. I have told everyone what great dinner companions we had. Good dancing partners too. I wish our children had been there too. Maybe next time. It is a drag cooking and cleaning again. The first morning back, I said oh..... I want to go up to Topsiders and have breakfast, I don't want to cook

Minniemoms, we did not meet, but MJ told me about all of you getting together for dinner, etc. I'm glad you had such a great time, my DS 7 got up this morning basically demanding to have pancakes and eggs and a donut for breakfast and I said "what do you think this is Topsiders or something?" to which he simply responded "YES!"

Do you go to Disneyland alot? With 3 DSs, 5, 10 & 10 we take our fair share of trips up to Anaheim. Luckily, it is only about an hour and 20 minutes door to door so often times we will just go on a Sunday for the afternoon.

Did you rebook another cruise?

Thank you all for you nice comments!!!! I truly love sharing my love and enthusiasm for DCL with everyone who will listen. We were in Home Depot once and a woman had on a t-shirt from CC. I wanted to run right up to her and ask her how she liked the cruise but she disappeared admist the plumbing supplies!!! My hubby just shakes his head!!!

Minniemoms....it was SO GREAT TO MEET YOU AND YOUR WONDERFUL HUBBY!!!! Fate must have brought us all together!!! So glad we convinced you guys to come to 60's night....it was a blast....next time come to British Pub Night...we laughed so hard!!! I have some pics of the trip I will send your way and I have uploaded my digital pics to webshots....I will send them to you soon. Today I had to start the diet....yuck and go back to work.

I love all the disboard folk!!! I love DCL!!! I love life!!!! I do not like cooking, cleaning, laundry, etc. We came back to New York late Saturday night with very cold temps and the news just said tomorrow we will wake up to snow!!!

It is so hard to believe that last Tuesday we were sitting on a wonderful beach in St. Maarten and then lounging in an empty Quiet Cove Pool in the afternoon!!!!

If DCL truly does move to the West Coast I would love to try and get out there!!!

I forgot to go to the cruise meet, but did meet several disboard friends during the cruise....and it was great! I, too, wasn't thrilled with the character breakfast...in fact, after 10 cruises, it seems to be getting worse. However, that's worthy of a separate thread, so I'll start one!

Miss you all...and the food....and the weather...and THE MAGIC! I'll be back in Sept.

MJ WE HAD SO MUCH FUN, AND HUBBY LOVED BEING WITH HIS "BROTHERS". HE DOESN'T HAVE ANY, SO IT WAS GREAT FOR HIM
LOTSOFBOYS" WE ARE UNFORTUNATELY 5-6 HOURS AWAY DEPENDING ON TRAFFIC SO WE GO ABOUT 3 TIMES A YEAR. IF WE HAD A FAST TRAIN DOWN TO LA, LIKE A "BART" IN THE BAY AREA, WE WOULD BE THERE ALOT. BUT WE LIVE IN A SMALL RURAL AREA, AND I DON'T LIKE TO DRIVE IN BUSY TRAFFIC VERY OFTEN.
WE HAVE 6 CHILDREN, SO WE USED TO GO TWICE A YEAR WITH ALL OF THEM, NOW 2 ARE MARRIED, AND WE WANTED TO TAKE ALL ON THE DCL, BUT AIRFARE OUT FROM CALIFORNIA$$$$$ BESIDES THE CRUISE$$$ SO WE CAME JUST THE 2 OF US ON THE CRUISE AND IT WAS WONDERFUL. WHEN IT COMES OUT TO THE WEST COAST, IF IT DOES, WE WILL ALL ON BE ON IT. OTHERWISE MAYBE IN A FEW YEARS, WE WILL ALL COME OUT. JUST LOVED IT. JUDY

MJ - What kind of digital camera do you have? It captured the blue so beautifully and you got good inside shots! Did you have to play with the pictures to get the colors to look good or does your camera just take really good shots?

lotsofboys....I know...I wish we were all back there again. It really was a pleasure sitting next to you at CC. You never know who you might be sitting next to as evidenced by the screaming match at the end of the beach that morning....did you catch that????....glad we were next to you guys!!!

My good friend is onboard this week and I can't believe she is at Castaway Cay today....it seems like we were just there!!! Hope their weather is as good as ours was!!!

Queen Trident....we have a Sony Cybershot P5 that we got about 2 years ago for my Birthday.

I love it and do not use any special settings....just aim and shoot. I still have troube with filling in faces with light when I am shooting outside but I think I need to use the flash then. And some of my inside shots come out dark even with the flash, so I think I may be too far away....I love how it takes outdoor pics. I do not even have the camera set to the best setting. I got about 200 digitial pics on my 128 mb memory stick. I would go over them during the cruise and delete the ones I did not like at all.

I then upload them to my Webshots account and put the link on the DIS!!!

Great photos, MJ! I just saw your September Wonder album, too...looks like you had an amazing time on both trips. I couldn't help but thinking to myself, though..."Gee, these pictures are taken like a true DISr." --> meaning that you capture a lot of the uniqueness and details of the cruise that newbies don't usually see or even think of capturing with a photo. Excellent! THANKS!

CRSNDSNY.....you will laugh but when I take pictures I specifically have the Dis'er in mind....my hubby laughs and says who takes pictures of the miro and fridge in a hotel room....and I say...well, the Dis'er have inquiring minds and they want to know.

After 10 DCL cruises I try to capture different and unique things, especially things Dis'ers might be interested in. For example the empty space next to our cabin was very interesting to me as someone posted a few weeks ago wanting to know what balcony space that was....now I know....a crew only access area that has a great verandah....a waste of good unused verandah space if you ask me, since I never saw or heard a sole out there the whole week!!!

gaga.....we saw Girish onboard...he was serving the tables next to us. I asked our server to go get his attention and he was so surprised to see us!!! He immediately asked where the rest of the gang was and was disappointed you were all not there!!! He truly remembered us that time!!!! Who wouldn't!!!! Didn't Becky say we were the talk of the staff that cruise!!!

Don't worry...I got your mom and dad hooked last week so I am sure there will be a large family cruise in the future!!!!

Thanks for taking my picture. We were orginally scheduled to take a Disney cruise when my daughter had to cancel. She said mom and dad go cruising but not on disney. That is how we ended up on a Princess cruise, celebrating our 25th anniversay.
I will say it is totally different from Disney, the food was better, more formal, but the entertainment was not as good. We will be back on Disney next January. Thanks again for taking my picture. I was wondering if someone would.

That was quite a picture that MJ took of you! I was wondering who that person was!

I have a question about 60's night: When the "Beatles" are on stage, how many songs do they do?? I LOVE the Beatles and it'd be great to hear some of their music, "live". Also, when is 60's night? I seem to think it's on Friday night? Thanks!
