update pg.5-9/8: My TR- Tshirts, books, birthdays and a Tropical Storm: Oh, my!

Our 1st day waking up at WDW! :cool1: I have to admit we slept a bit late. After all the traveling the day before, we were wiped out. But once we woke up, everyone was eager to get up and get to MK. Before going, though, we left this for Mousekeeping:
1000368.jpg
The mousekeeping envelope is from mcraft17. Thank you so much! The kids were so excited to leave another envelope each morning :)

Hooray! Off to MK! As we are coming into the Town Square area, I saw two characters coming out of a building. I grabbed DD and we took off chasing them to their character spot! (No children were run over in my pursuit-promise) It was Mary Popping and Bert! DD calls her "Mary Puffins" :rotfl: I love MP and we've never seen her or Bert in any of our trips to WDW. Here's our picture and then I will tell you about meeting them:
1000374.jpg

I don't know if Chaoscent (Penny) is reading, but I want to say Thank You  for your amazing autograph pages. I made my DD an autograph book that was a combination of pages I had made and pages from Chaoscent's photobucket. MP and Bert's pages were Chaoscent's DISigns. The characters LOVED the pages! MP and Bert were so excited to see their pictures! They even asked if they could look through the book as some of the other pages. Then Bert noticed DS's birthday shirt and button and sang him a Birthday song. :goodvibes So fun!

After that, we stopped for the "must have" pictures in front of the castle:
castleborder.jpg

Oh, look! More Tshirts! 2 are from :worship: Rumblytumbly. The other 2 DSIL cannot remember which DISigner she got them from. If you see your DISign, please let me know so we can Thank You! ;)

From there we decided to head from POTC, as it is everyone's favorite. Before we got on the ride, I noticed a Photopass Photographer standing outside. Thanks to the DIS, I knew what he was doing! I grabbed the kids and told them, "Do what he tells you to do!" I love these pictures:
cpthookn.jpg

cpthookm.jpg

The kids had no idea what was happening! pirate:

After fun rides on POTC, Jungle Cruise, Big Thunder Mnt Railroad and a quick trip to Tom Sawyers Island- we are starved! Ok, I have to tell you....DH has one quick-service restaurant in MK that he likes. He won't go anywhere else!!! So, off to Pinocchios Village Haus we go! I couldn't believe how packed it was!! 8 of us had to squeeze into a table for 5 :scared1: But I'm just happy we found a place to eat- everyone is getting grumpy they are so hungry.

Now, bellies are full  and spirits are back up. And the kids are dying to go to It's a Small World :dance3: . And here is the 1st time someone noticed my LGMH! As I was going down the ramp, someone stopped me and said they had noticed it. When I talked with her, I found out she was a lurker. We had a nice conversation before it was time to get into our boat. Afterwards DBIL asked me what my LGMH was all about! :lmao: I tried to explain the DIS to him, but how can you explain all the greatness of the DIS in a 2 minute conversation :confused3

After IASW, we headed for the Tea Cups. Again, another of my favorites!!! Each year, I've taken video of the kids while we are on the Tea Cups. It is some of the best video footage I have! So much fun to pull out and watch when I'm missing "The Happiest Place in the World!"

By this time, the lines are just getting too long and it's reached "Africa hot" in the MK. We all agree it's time to head back to WL for a rest before DS's Birthday Dinner! :bday: As we are heading out, I told DH I wanted to run into the Emporium and grab a small gift for DS for tonight. He took the kids onto the resort and Mommy got some shopping time by herself! :woohoo:

Next Update: Birthday Boogie and a "Girls Night Out!"
Hope you all are still enjoying the TR! Thanks for coming along!

It sounds like so much fun. I'm a giant Mary Poppins fan. She and Bert are so great. You ought to PM chaoscent (Penny) and let her know about your thread. I'll bet she'd love to know her autograph pages were used yet again.

Love the shirts and the pictures of the kids with Hook. Those are too cute.

I'm enjoying reading your updates so much Heather. Thanks for taking the time to do them. Last time I was in WDW was 1998 so it's been awhile.:rotfl:

WoW! you are doing a FAN-BANG-MAZING job on your TR!! How fabulous to see MP & Bert, too bad it wasn't the day b4 when you had her pic on your shirt...she'd probably call out "DT we have a WINNER!!" Did you mention that she was floating on your shirt the day b4? how cool is that?! I'm really excited to tune in to your trip... instead of sitting here letting the mouse exercise i should jogging in place so my butt doesn't look so huge in the pics in less than 30 days...yup, so much for the weight loss plan:confused3 back to the commercial (may as well stuff more in my face while i'm waiting popcorn::) :rotfl:

Heather,

Loving your report. I love the Hook pictures. I had seen them on other TR's, but never read where they were taken before. I need to start a list of pics to do with Photopass so I will remember to have them done.

Just wanting to hear more and see more pics of those cute kiddos!:goodvibes

Yes, definitely still enjoying! Thanks for giving me a Disney fix today!

:rotfl: I was thinking the same thing about my shirt also! We had eaten at Akershus the night before and I had read somewhere that she is at Akershus sometimes. So, I was really hoping she would be there and I would have my shirt on ! But she wasn't....I'm still really happy I got to see her!

Enjoying your report! Can't wait to read more!
Thank You! More coming, promise!

Hey, Melissa! One of my "goals" on the trip was to get those "Hook" pics with the kids. Love 'em

Just wanting to hear more and see more pics of those cute kiddos!:goodvibes
Hi, Kari! I'm coming back...I'll explain a bit more at the end of this post

Awesome Trip report! Can't wait to hear more!!
Thank you! I'm so happy you all are coming along for my TR!

So sorry that I have not updated over the weekend. It has been a very rough couple of days. Emotional rollercoaster! But, I'm going to go back to my "Happy Place" in my head and forget it all for awhile! Thanks for helping me do that, everyone  I'm going to do some of this :laundy: and some of this :stir: and then I will be back with more!

count me in, I am new to the designing threads have been using it for inspiration and have just finished my first t-shirt design for our mnsshp trip. It is great to see how all the tshirts turned out.

Hi, Kirsten! :yay: Thanks for coming to my TR. And you are from my 2nd favorite place in the world(the UK!) Sorry, Disney is the 1st! I'm going to go over and take a look at your pre-trip report. Oh, and.......:welcome: to the Creative DISign board! You're going to love it here. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. Just ask is you have any questions. Good luck on making those T-shirts.

So, we left Magic Kingdom and headed back to WL for some rest and showers before heading off for a birthday dinner. party: When planning this trip, I was wondering :confused3 Where is the best place to have a birthday dinner for a young guy? Of course, where do you go to find the answers to such questions? The DIS, of course! After lurking many threads and switching my choice a million times, I finally decided to make the ressie for Chef Mickey's! We had an ADR there last trip and cancelled it last minute, so this would be our first time there.

OK, having dressed for dinner, we all headed to the boat dock to take it from WL to the Contemporary. Oh, remember those outfits and hairbows I was making for the DD? Here's one of them! And the T-shirt DISign comes to you from RumblyTumbly

My MIL and FIL met up with us at CM's for dinner. Along the way, we had visits from:

We really enjoyed this meal. A lot of fuss was made of DS since it was his birthday. So what are we missing at our party? :cake: , of course! Again, the compulsive Disney Planner in me spent months trying to decide on what to do for a birthday cake for DS at Disney. I found a thread on the restaurant boards that is all about birthday/anniversary cakes that can be ordered at Disney. This thread is huge! It's on Part 2 now. If you are ever interested in ordering a cake a WDW, look at this thread. The pictures of cakes from Disney are AMAZING! If I had the money, I would order a different one each day ! :rotfl2: In the end, though, I let DS choose what he wanted and this is what we had:
1000429.jpg
1000430.jpg
We ordered the cake from the Boardwalk Bakery. It is white buttercream frosting, marble cake and dark chocolate mousse filling with Indiana Jones picture. ( The Boardwalk does not deliver, so the in-laws were kind to pick it up and bring it to dinner with them.) Let me say- this cake was very good! It was moist and rich! The mousse inside was amazing! We had a bunch left over, so we gave a piece to our amazing server at CM's.

After dinner, the "boys" of the group wanted to go over to DTD and see the new "Star Wars Clone Wars" movie. My DS a Star Wars fanatic  But tonight is EMH at Magic Kingdom? I want to get back to the parks :yay:
This sounds like a "Girls Night Out" to me!

Heather,

Your children are just adorable and I think that hairbow injury may have been worth it! Did you make your daughter's dress too? So cute! Sounds like a jam packed day already. Can't wait for the next installment.

Kari:goodvibes

Now, the boys are off to the movies at DTD and the girls are headed to MK for EMH!

After getting into the gates, we looked for any CM's that were passing out the EMH bracelots. When they gave the little girls their bracelots, they said, "Have a good night, Princess." I asked the CM, "How come no one calls me Princess?" :confused3 He was quite taken aback and didn't know what to say! I told him tonight, he could call me "Empress".

Well, as we walked up Main Street we realized everyone was getting their seats for Wishes. We debated where we wanted to sit and watch. We ended up sitting behind the Castle next to Cindy's Carousel. I would probably find a better place next time, but for tonight it was good. Here are a few pics of "Wishes" for you:
wishes1.jpg
and
wishes2.jpg
.
While we were watching, there was a little girl standing next to me. By her accent I could tell she was from the UK. During the fireworks, she said, "Mummy, can I talk to my wishes?" :sad1:  How cute is that! Yep, I thought I was going to cry for sure. I talked to them for a minute after the fireworks were over.

After the fireworks, I think everyone made a run for Peter Pan. Both the girls wanted to ride it, also. The lines had been to long during the day, so we got in line for a 60 minute wait :headache: I love Peter Pan, but for the life of me, I wish I knew why this ride always has a long wait!

As the night went on, we rode Winnie the Pooh, IASW (yes, again), Big Thunder Mtn and Aladdin's Magic Carpets. By now, it was about 12 midnight and the clock was striking! Coaches were turning into pumpkins and the glass slipper got left on the stairs. We decided to head back to WL, but not before one more stop in front of Cinderella's Castle:
girlsnightcastle.jpg

While on the boat back to WL, the boys called wondering where we were. They never thought we would stay out so late. Finally in bed about 1:30 a.m.!

Day 3- Hollywood Studios

Thanks so much, Kari! Yes, with my SIL's help, I made that dress for DD and one other one. (I haven't sewn since high school home ec!) And the hairbows turned out pretty good. She was happy with them, which is all that matters. :cutie:

Your kids are beautiful!!! Lovin' your TR! I can't wait to keep reading.

Loved the updates, everyone looked great! That cake looked yummy!!! We were thinking about ordering one for DD, we were supposed to go for her Birthday this month, but had to change some plans and go next month, she was bummed about not being in Disney for her bday, but I was going to give her a little surprise for our Oct trip. Can't wait to read more!!

Ooooohhhhh love that cake. I want cake now. Love the t-shirts, dresses, and bows!

I would have loved to see the look on the CM's face when you asked about being called a Princess.

We waited for about 30 minutes one night for Peter Pan and everything else was almost a walk on, I don't know what the deal is either.

Looking forward to another update.
Melissa
