Thankfully, except for crazy traffic in Florida (what is it, spring break or something?) they had a good trip down. Before they left I asked them if I could help them out and fax in a request for a certain site for them but they said no, they'd be OK (except my Dad said he hoped they'd be near the Marina and a comfort station and there are some loops with no CS!). All day it was like sending your kids off to kindergarten, you want to help them but you want to respect their need for independence, I had to sit on my hands to keep from going against their wishes and send in a request for a perfect site. I called them at 8:00 to see how things were and they have a site that is really perfect for them, bus stop nearby, meadows is close, CS is close. She said it was a breeze backing the monster into the site. The smile in my Mom's voice was priceless. She told me what she made for supper and it was as though it was the first time she'd ever made those things (remember when you were first married and the simplest of things just seemed more special?)
They have annual passes and when I called them they were sitting in the RV watching people move in and out of the loop and just being. I have to stop now before I get all verklempt, but it makes me feel happy to know that after all their years of working and dreaming (how many times has my Dad said after one of our FW trips: "One day I'll be there in a huge RV"?) their dream has come true. It is the year of a million dreams!
