Poster WDW1974 over at wdwmagic, considered among the most accurate insiders out there with a great track record, posted an update on DVC.

He said that DVC is in fact coming to the Caribbean Beach property, but it will be a separate resort.

He also said there are plans right now for DVC at the Contemporary, Coronado Springs and adjacent to Epcot, with Disney continuing to "turn WDW into The Timeshare Kingdom of the World."

You mean they are going to add DVC units outside of BLT ?? Confused. I like the idea of DVC's at the moderates but I guess we will have to wait and see how the point structuring is set up and how this will affect availability across the board.

They're closing that convention center in favor of the BC/YC center expansion. If they tear down that convention site, they can build a new tower. I would expect it to be its own condo association.

Also a rumor of a gondola transportation from the new "Caribbean beach" DVC to EPCOT and DHS:

We were looking for something that would make the new DVC attractive for new owners: here it is. I've been on the London one a couple of times just as an attraction (it connects two periferic spots, I've no idea how many commuters use it but I bet not many). I can see it to have a great appeal, even more than the monorail.

The EPCOT IG entrance just got a whole lot busier! Do like the concept though.

The gondola system has confirmed by multiple reliable insiders now. Permits have been filed to construct a system that would connect Epcot, the new DVC @ CBR, Hollywod Studios and Pop Century/ AoA. The orientation of the switch at the new DVC resort also suggests the system could be extended to Disney Springs. Image credit to danlb_2000 at wdwmagic.

Can you offer citations for these permits? I have yet to see a permit to allow construction of towers on Wetland 12-1E that is situated between Hollywood Studios and the Caribbean Beach properties. For that matter, I haven't found any permits for the construction of towers from Epcot all the way to the Art of Animation Resort.

Admittedly, I know nothing about the construction of a gondola system or the operation of such a system. But its about 1.1 km from the Hollywood Studios loading platform to the Caribbean Beach loading platform, including about 690 meters just to cross Wetland 12-1E. Surely, Disney would have to build several support towers for the gondola system. So far, I can't find any permits to cover the construction of the towers for the gondola's track.

We were planning on November of next year staying at CBR. Do you think with the construction we should switch resorts? Or could we possibly get cheaper room rates staying there during construction? Our other thought is PORFQ, but I'd really prefer CBR if it will still be decent.
