The lab work done by NU is interesting, but it still doesn't demonstrate a causal connection. In the drug industry only a small number of compounds that look promising in the lab bare fruit when the work turns to the actual use of a compound in people. The gold standard is still human studies.
As for the last section you cut-n-pasted.... So Congresspersons are better judges of science than the scientists themselves? And the fact that Dan Burton has a grandson whose autism he openly lays at the feet of childhood vaccines has somehow an unbiased judge on this matter?
And again, where's the data showing a decline in autism that's the logical result from the removal of Thimerosal (assuming your belief is true)???
And again, so what? Table salt is 50% chlorine. Cyanide is made up of one atom each of carbon and nitrogen... two "benign" elements. But, at least you admit that Thimerisol contains mercury, and that it is made up of nearly 50% mercury.
I admit that the AMA said it might be a problem based on calculations. But contiuned epidemiological studies have not bourne out their fears. When you start using words like "could", "might", "may", "feels" etc. you veer out of the realm of science into that of speculation. At least you admit that the AMA feels mercury is bad, and that injecting it into children could be harmful.
So the IOM, FDA, WHO, CDC, NIH, National Academies of Science, other health-related governing bodies from around the globe, etc. etc. all got it wrong with their studies and conclusions?!?!?Sorry to hear you follow the NIH blindly, when it is supported by the makers of the product into which they are to be testing. Their findings are held in such a high regard in this instance, as you can see.
