Update on possibilites of Transformers

I would hope someone would realize that putting in a permanent haunted house is going to detract from the uniqueness of HHN.

I don't think it would, my opinion. Universal IS monsters lets have some on a regular basis aside from a show. (that I happen to really like too!) A house with the original monsters would be way cool.

Maybe a few of these guys? Just wishful thinking for me.:)

I think it is an awesome idea. The Classic Universal Monsters are so under-represnted and utilized. It would be nice to see something with them

Although I don't think it would be a terrible thing to have it, I think it is so close to Spiderman that it wouldn't be the smartest thing. I'd rather see something else.

Agreed. I was Universal Hollywood this past Monday and Transformers is almost an exact clone of Spiderman except it's Transformers. It's a great ride but much the same. Even the simulated long drop at the end.

That would be FANTASTIC........Love the idea :thumbsup2 Yup.......Universal monsters are real classics. And I would adore a permanent haunted house idea!!!

I`m not a fan of Transformers so would be over the moon if that never happens

Being a huge fan of frankensteing and horrors in general i love the idea. To me it makes no sense as to why there is no ride or experiance in any of the parks to do with the classic uni monster> Especially considering its them that prevented uni from going under twice!

Screamscape is saying the latest rumors appear to have some sort of year round haunted house like House of Horrors at Universal Hollywood going into what used to be soundstage 44.He doesn't like the idea as apparently House of Horrors is pretty low quality and not up to par with haunts at HHN.I honestly wouldn't mind as Universal has a huge history with monsters and scary movies,in fact almost every year I attend HHN I think about why Universal doesn't have some sort of year round monsters attraction. So I personally love the theme, now they just need to make sure they do a good job with it.What does scare me is that this appears to have been thrown together in the last minute to create another attraction with nothing in Amity Island until Potter gets finished in a couple of years,so I'm keeping my fingers crossed if this is what actually will go there that it will be a worthwhile attraction.

With Monsters Cafe right there I think that a classic monsters attraction would be amazing. As long as they don't do meet and greets...

now that you said that, it probably will happen........

Naaa...

This isn't Disney. We actually get attractions w/ the meet&Greets just filled in available space. Not Attractions replaced with entire areas taken over by the meet and greet.

;)

While that is true, let's consider the idea that Universal could change the storyline/effects for the Orlando version, similar to how the Mummy follows a much different course and plot on the Hollywood and Singapore versions.

Also, I'm starting to wonder something else...Not only is Universal Orlando home to a Spiderman attraction, but so is Universal Studios Japan........Japan, the HOME of Transformers. IF they decide the want a transformers ride, it should also be quite different than Spiderman they have there....so maybe Universal would create a different version for both of those parks?

With the Horror Make up show right there too, they should retheme Mel's to fit in with the theme. Maybe Sci Fi drive in or something? Wonder where the attraction entrance will be?

Disney would sue Universal if they did that.

Disney doesn't have a copyright on science fiction themed restauarants...anyone can open one just not call it the "Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater." Both restaurants are already 50's themed so it's not a stretch for Universal to retheme Mel's.

Alright, y'all have convinced me that my earlier thought was wrong. They could make that entire area really cool with some type of haunted attraction. As an aside, isn't the reason you don't see any of the real "famous" monsters in the Great Movie Ride at MGM because Universal owns pretty much all of them?

True, but I would try to come up with something different simply because it would give the appearance of Universal intentionally trying to copy Disney.

Well... There is that.....

And the simple fact that all the movies (not counting the current version of the end film) portrayed within the ride are Either Disney, MGM, or 20th Century Fox properties.

I agree...just disputing the statement about Disney suing Universal over a sci-fi themed restaurant.

I don't think Mel's is going to be rethemed since it's basically a copy of the restaurant used in the film American Graffiti and the 1950's cars are relatively popular with visitors. Plus I don't think there is a lot of room for another themed area the way the park is set up right now. You've got Hollywood/Beverly Hills on one side and Production Central on the other. I don't know what else could be put in that area...theme wise.
