Sounds like positive news. Make sure your mum doesn't wear herself out before the surgery. Eat healthy too, if her appetite is good. It will be a while before her appetite is back to normal, weeks to months and she will lose weight. She'll be surprised at how low her energy level will be as well. Take the recovery nice and slow and her body will heal itself.
