Firstly thanks so much for all the prayers, hugs, PD and good thoughts.

Mum didn't have her op until late Monday afternoon and she suffered with sickness for quite a while afterwards. Anyway she is home now, very tired and sore. My sister told me that she has never seen her looking so scared before, I think the stress and seriousness has finally caught up on her.

The consultant said that it is operable, the cancerous cells are in the lower part of her stomach in the stomach wall and the good news is that they have not spread to any other organs. She will be admitted next weekend and have her surgery. This will take place on Monday.

It is major surgery and the recovery rate will be at least 3 months, possibly 4.

So we have a long way to go, but at least it is in the early stages still so there is hope that Mum will be able to recover and lead a fairly normal life again.
