Hi everyone
I've been away from the boards for a few weeks now as we had to cancel our trip for Xmas/New year and I just haven't felt like I could come on the boards without getting too upset about it.
As most of you know, we had to cancel last year because of sesamoiditis in my foot, but booked again for this Xmas thinking it would be better, which it isn'it. Nevertheless I was determined we wouldn't cancel again and had arranged to use a scooter around the parks.
All the plans came crashing down 3 weeks ago as I started getting awful burning pains and such sore feel I couldn't walk any distance without pain. I have been diagnosied with planter fasciitis but I'm not getting the 'standard' pains that you get with that so I have my doubts. This last week I have started getting hot pains down the side of one thight and in my lower back so in Jan I have to see a back specialist. I should mention I was born spina bifida but have had no problems apart from a bit of a weak back for the last 40 years, I have always been able to walk normally etc but now I'm terrified that something sinister is happening and am finding it hard to cope with the pain and the anxiety.
Sorry to go on so, but as I am at home I really do need something to keep me occupied and even though we don't know what the future holds and when we might actually get to WDW, I think if I can keep in touch with the community board on the DIS it may help me keep thinking positive. I was pushed round Mark's and Spencer's yesterday in a wheelchair and it was surreal to say the least and I felt very vulnerable and sad for my children if that is the future for me.
Thanks to Annie (Mrs Dazzle) for keeping in touch, I do appreciate it and it does help.
I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas with your families and best wishes for the New Year.
