I just wanted to pop on & tell y'all just how responsive both Leilani & Cammy from First American have been. We Fed-Exed our contract back a week ago tomorrow. I emailed Leilani when I got notification from FedEx that our package had been delivered - just wanted to make sure it got to the right person, as a $14k check was no small thing to have 'misplaced'. She got right back to me & told me it had indeed been received & registered.

Fast forward to today, when my impatience got the better of me. I emailed Leilani to ask if she could give me just a basic timeline for the anticipated closing (apologizing for being a PITA!), in the hopes that it'll keep me quiet as long as possible, lol. She forwarded my email to Cammy, who's actually handling the closing, & Cammy responded w/in 5 min. Our closing should be happening in the next couple of days (seller said she's sending her stuff today for a tomorrow arrival) & Cammy said she'd ask Disney to please expedite the transfer so we can get things rolling to make our Oct. reservations.

I can honestly say that in spite of the seemingly-lack of communication initially, they've been great since then & I'm generally very happy w/ the service they've provided.

For all the whining I've done, I wanted to sing some praises for a change.

Good Luck and shame on those dragging their feet sellers you are dealing with. I can only hope if i ever sell i remember what the waiting is like and get my contract notarized and out immediately.

Thanks, Fmer. I was a little surprised to hear that she hadn't sent her stuff back yet, but knowing that she had to have her paperwork notarized, am not surprised completely. Here's hoping it goes quickly & smoothly from this point on!

Ha ha - so you couldn't wait until Tuesday after all... :goodvibes I understand that. I didn't realize that the sellers had to get their paperwork notarized. Bummer for me since the sellers I am dealing with were slow to get the initial contracts back. I don't have much faith that they've done anything at all yet but my check and docs are already there. Guess I will call my title company next week to see if they can give them a poke :snail:

Glad you had good news to report bethifoody!

Terri

Thanks, Terri. I think you could probably give them a call & just ask for a timeline - maybe that'll be enough to prod them to make a call?

I'm eagerly awaiting the opportunity to make a ressie. It's going to be tough enough as it is, given that it's F&W time when we'll be there. Not why we're going there though. Well, maybe, if I can talk the dh into it! ;)

When are you planning?

We're hoping to head down Oct. 10-14. I used to work in monorails at WDW & there is a 'Railies Reunion' that weekend that we're going to attend. :) In addition, we'll head to the Tiffany museum in Winter Park & maybe the Dali museum in St. Pete (or somewhere near there! not remembering exactly).

good luck.......not sure what kind of rooms you are looking for but 25-28 was basically SSR and OKW, but they seem to be plentiful.

Ideally, I'd love to pick up a studio at BLT, but I don't think that'll happen. So either a studio or a 1 BR essentially wherever we can find one for our dates & that fits w/ our points.

Update for today: effective about 5 min. ago, we're closing on our contract today, as the title co. finally heard from & received the seller's docs! Can I get a "Welcome Home"?! :cool1::yay::dance3::woohoo::banana:

Thanks!!! I am beyond excited! (And so very thankful that I don't have to think about looking for another contract & going through the process again!)

Lol & thanks, Diane! And thanks, Princess! I can't wait till Monday - I'm dying to call Member Admin & Member Services to see about getting the official ball rolling. I emailed Rachel at Fidelity on Friday morning about the next step & heard nothing. But I was able to find the phone numbers I need online (google is a wonderful thing!), so I'll try that route on Monday.

Just so you don't get your hopes up too high for Monday... On another thread, someone reported that as of Friday, Disney was inputting the contracts that had been sent to them on May 6th, and another person chimed in to say that their contract went to Disney on the 8th and they still weren't in the system yet.

Be patient. Just think, this is the last waiting period of the whole process! :goodvibes

Thanks for the head up, Missyrose. I am hopeful that Cammy's request for an expedited process will be honored. It can't hurt to call once, I'm guessing.

Well, I called today. No go. The loan hasn't been paid off yet. Kevin very kindly explained it to me & suggested I call back towards the end of the week. It's the last wait... I can do this...
