Ok, so as some of you know, we had a tragic week last week with the loss of our 1-day-old goldfish, Nemo. The girls were heartbroken, and we ran out the next day to buy another.

The good news is, the fish is still swimming belly-side-down. We got a bigger tank with a filter and all the other garbage--er, items the pet store could sell us.

The girls are simply thrilled, and can't stop telling EVERYONE about our new fish, Nemo2! Of course, they go through the WHOLE story, I am sure the clerk at the grocery store today was enthralled!

I have one concern, though. Nemo is looking very thick through the stomach. Is it possible Nemo is a girl, and expecting? How would I know?

Thanks!

I don't have any advice about fish, but good luck with the new one! :grouphug: :wizard:

My only advice is to be very careful how much you feed. Goldfish will literally eat until they explode - they don't know when to stop. I was told they should get a piece of food the size of their eye every day - NO MORE!!

I have no idea how to tell if Nemo2 is preggers - I suppose it's possible. I'd guess that overfeeding is more likely. Time will tell!

i don't have any advice on fish--i can't keep them alive!!!! So you probably don't want the advice i would give;) Just wanted to tell ya good luck on the fish!!!!

Thanks for the warm wishes! :grouphug:

I don't think I'm feeding it too much, but then again, the girls might be dropping some food in when I'm not looking!

I can't say anything about Nemo2...I just had to comment on how cute the puppy was under your name. Is that your dog? He/she is just SOOOOO adorable!!!!!!!

Just think Cyn, you could get many fish for the price of one! plus the filter, bigger bowl, etc,,
Good luck with it.

Oh, that's just what I want, Kild! Nine million fish!

Thanks AZKathy! Yes, that is George. He is a papillon, and such a great puppy!

cyn--how did you do that???

Cyn - there is something fishy about this post.

Just wanted to wish you luck! I had the same experience (not with a pregnant fish, with one that died, lol). We bought 3 goldfish. DD named hers Dennis (after Stanley's fish) mine was Cleo (Pinnochio's fish) and of course, DH named his "Bob". Anyway, Dennis went to fishy heaven and we sent him there via the toilet. DD wouldn't let us use that bathroom for weeks because she said "Dennis is in that potty".
