I'm so excited, but my nerves are starting to get the best of me. I'm excited, not just to see what I look like afterwards (I'm getting a breast augmentation and mini-tummy tuck), I'm also looking forward to laying in bed for a few days and having my dh take over all the kid duties! :teeth:

UPDATE

I'm home, and very, very sore. The surgery took a little over three hours. I can't see anything because I'm wrapped in compression bandages from the top of my chest all the way to my bikini area. I was expecting the tummy tuck to hurt the most, but so far my breasts are hurting me worse. I feel like someone beat me in the chest with a bat! The breasts themselves don't really hurt, it's everything behind and around them that hurt, even my sternum. The vicodin is only taking the edge off, and it hurts to take a deep breath. Ididn't think I'd be hurting this bad. Hopefully I'm feeling a little better tomorrow. Chris (my dh) is taking great care of me and it's nice to just sit here and relax, even if I hurt! I did take pictures so I will try and get them posted to a personal blog later. Thanks everyone for all your good thoughts and wishes!

I am so jealous! I can't wait to hear how it turns out.

I already told DH I want a tummy tuck one day - even if I have to save for the next decade! He thinks I'm nuts. :teeth:

Good luck tomorrow!

Good luck! It's nice to be having surgery for a good reason!!!
Sad that we mothers have to resort to surgery to get the DHs to take over! :rotfl2: :rotfl:

Good luck and enjoy the rest time!!!

However, if that is you in the picture I find it hard to believe you need a mini-tummy tuck of any kind.

Let us know how you make out!

Good luck, Steph!

I can't believe how quickly you were able to get an appointment, and how fast the wait time has flown.

I do hope everything goes well for you. Don't rush your recovery! Take care. :sunny:

Thanks! I actually had my consultation done last year, and when I finally called to schedule it, they had some cancellations so they were able to get me an appointment in less than 6 weeks. Normally his wait time is about 2-3 months.

:cheer2: :cheer2:

Make sure you LISTEN to your doctor's instructions. Lifting/driving/etc...don't do that until s/he says it's ok.

Congrats! You'll feel like yourself (only better) before you know it. ;)

I was thinking the same thing!! Whoever it is in that picture is adorable! I hope the surgery goes well and you get some good rest. Your DH is a fireman right? Was he able to take some time off?

I watched a breast augmentation once. They went in under the breast, under the muscle.

Once the spacers were in, everyone filed past the foot of the bed, and gave their opinion about whether they were even, and if not, which one they liked best. :) "I like the left one," "I think the right - much more natural."

Once they looked even and natural (well, close to natural, they "fall into" being more natural after a short time), the real thing goes in, everyone checked them one more time to be sure they looked OK, and then the doctor actually felt them to make sure everything is right...Yup, just like that! No other way to know! :) Then she got sewed up, he wiped the itty bitty smidges of blood off, and woke her up.

Are you getting that kind, or the kind where they go in lower?

(I think you are beautiful and don't need work done!:))

That is me and my dh in that picture! The mini-tuck is not to remove fat or extra weight, it's to remove loose, wrinkly skin and horrible stretch marks from having four kids. It's just for the area below my belly button. But thanks for your compliment! :goodvibes

Good luck!!
And if that is you in your sig picture than you don't look like you need any surgery!!!
I use to tell my sister that and her answer to me was "you don't see me naked!!!"LOL :rotfl2: She had a tummy tuck and breast augmentation at the same time. She was really fine after and in pain for alittle while but has no regrets! My mom also got her ****s done and she recovered really well, and fast. My sister has 3 kids and she enjoyed the break of being in bed!LOL Take your time recovering and listen to your Dr. about not lifting and other restrictions.

Wait a minute! I just read your last post! 4 kids and you look like that???!! Now I hate you!!LOL :rotfl2: :lmao:

Thank you! My dh is a fireman, and that's me and him in my siggy. He was able to get 4 days off to help me out. I should be up and walking around normally in about 3-7 days. No heavy lifting or anything strenuous for 6 weeks. I'll have before and after pics, I just don't think I'll be able to post them here!

Good luck to you! Hope your recovery goes smoothly!

You could do before and after pics in a tank top or something to that effect. I'm sure you'll be anxious to show off the girls.

I wondered if that was you and your DH in the pic. Geesh, you guys are one fine looking couple! I should be so lucky to look like you. :sad2: Anyway, I hope your surgery and recovery go smoothly and you get to enjoy having your DH around. Take care. :)

Steph ~ Good luck!!! You'll have to give me all of the details. I'm scheduling my tummy tuck for Sept. Take care and get well soon!!! :goodvibes

You'll want to stay on the pain meds for the first day or so for sure. Also, don't be surprised if the results of the augmentation seem a bit too large for a while. The swelling will go down after a few weeks. My friend who had the tummy tuck said that she did have to walk kind of bent forward for a while. Good luck to you and enjoy that time off! :goodvibes

Hey we could cyber recover together! I am having mine done on Wednesday!! I have 24 year old silicone implants that I am having removed and replaced with saline. I told the DR if I have to go through the pain of having the old ones removed I wanted a bit more "gain" from it!!! I'm looking forward to it but a bit scared too, don't like pain! The GREAT news is my boyfriend is taking me to Hawaii the end of May to "celebrate" the new look!!
Good luck with yours!!!
