Update on my neighbor cutting down my oleanders

I feel for you! Funny MIL story, in the same vein (actually both, MILs and yardwork). WHen we were in ORL in October I pick up a voicemail from MIL. SHe had ran into our sometime yard man (we call him for major projects, we have 2.5 acres) and he had mentioned that he hadn't heard from us in a while. She told him we were out of town, he suggests/asks how would we react if he "surprised" us by coming out and doing another major clean out to the lake for us (cost us close to $1000 last time). She says sure, go for it, they'll love it. This is what I get in the voice mail! :furious: DH is livid, I have to call the yard guy and tell him the yard looks fine, then call MIL and ask her if she wants to fork out the $1000?

The PP is correct about oleanders, extremely poisonous. I remember an old (and I mean old) movie from the 40's where a guy (Vinvent Price I think) tries to poison his wife by putting oleanders all over her bed room so she can inhale the fragrance.

Yes, Oleanders are poisonous..our property is rung with them. :teeth: Now, who can I make a lovely Christmas wreath for, using my very own flowers? :lmao:

Thanks for the update, Disney-Kim! Wow, I would have been FURIOUS. I'd love to know who the workmen are who think it's ok to TRESPASS over a locked fence. They are lucky you didn't call the police on them.

I would definitely follow the advice of making a formal, written statement to her (via certified mail). I would make sure she knows that you have been 'advised' to make it formally known to her that any future trespassing is unacceptable.

To be honest, I would be talking to your LE BIL and/or an atty for advice. I am not saying I would sue over what is already done, but I would make sure that she is formally warned now, before she has another impulse to make changes on YOUR property.

We caught our neighbor next door pouring some kind of poison along the fence line. It is our fence but he did not like grass along it. He was trying to kill the grass so he did not have to weed whack. Hello....we have a dog and you are pouring poison along our fence line. He said OH....he forgot about the dog.
