Tonight while scrolling through my usual check of availability once again I see availability for the one night I wanted at the Grand Floridian. I knew I couldn’t modify my reservation because it was 4 more points and the seven dwarves would not let that happen. I said let me try calling member services thinking I would wait for hours. Surprisingly they answered right away. I explained my circumstance told her I wanted to change to the Grand Floridian. She said let me check. She could see nothing. I refreshed my page and it was still there. She continued to see nothing. She had me back out of the page and look again and it was still there for me. She could see nothing. This went on for about 10 minutes and she put me on hold to speak to her supervisor. Then she had me go to modify my reservation and the room was still there but she couldn’t see it. The supervisor borrowed the points into my account and then I was able to make the modification online myself. I finally got the room I wanted. This was such an ordeal though and all because I’m the ugly stepsister with the resale points.

I think it is just the new system Disney installed. Show more availability so members use points. When they arrive there are no rooms. They say hey we have plenty of rooms at RIV if you buy some there direct. Sales of RIV sky rocket I’m just joking of course. Some have said there was a lot of availability that has shown up overnight. It is odd that MS could not see it. They need to fix the resale borrowing issue.

I'm still waiting for a call back on mine from seven days ago. Nobody seems to care.

Glad you got the night you wanted. :) But I am surprised you could see availability that MS couldn't.
I actually called to do a transfer of 8 points a couple of days ago so I could book one night at a boulder ridge studio for a friend. The agent was going to book it for me while I was on the phone but actually didn't see the availability, so she waited with me on the phone while I just booked it online and then verified it for me afterward (her suggestion since she found it odd as well). So, I guess this is yet another new "feature". :confused3:thumbsup2

This is how they walk you through to do it. You're supposed to hold it while they take a million years to figure out how to borrow points. Then you refresh and book with the borrowed points. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

Complete trash system. Even worse when they added the forced time out after an hour. Looks like they got rid of that, maybe.

That exact thing (except for the supervisor helping get the room) happened to me. I saw a room MS could not. They just put a waitlist up for me instead.

The one thing that can happen is that if you are trying to book a room and it is the only room available and if you click continue. The room is now being held for you to finish the booking process. It will remain there for 20 minutes then it will release and MS can then see it. This has happened to me. I was on the phone and MS and he could not see the room but I could. He explained to me about the system temporarily holding it and had me stay on the line with him and sure enough the room was able to be seen by him after several minutes.

Has this actually happened?

Yep. Hasn't that been the way for ages? I've been mainly gone from the dis for over a year b/c it's too depressing, but that's how I remember it being before.
