Update on DL Quests and Monster Door

Visited the VMK Kiosk at DL yesterday and this is what I found out.

There will be new DL Quests at the end of January. Two new items are being added a Retro Disneyland Castle Pin and a Hippo River (??) CM tried to explain how the hippo river piece could be put together to make it look like it’s a running river. Truthfully I will not believe this until I see it with my own eyes. LOL

As for the doors that’s a tricky question. The CM at the VMK kiosk said there was a sign up sheet for the cards at the Monsters ride and that the cards would be out in a couple of weeks.

Wrong, no cards or sign up sheet. I spoke with a CM (who until Saturday did not know what VMK is) who asked his lead what it was all about. People kept asking him “where are the cards?

The cards will also be out at the end of the month. They will be handed out at the end of the ride but you must ask for a card. If you don’t ask you will not receive a card.

Remember we are dealing with Disney here so it could all change in the next week. LOL

Hope this helps some of you with getting the door card and challenge of the new quests.

So it may be the more you ride the new ride the more cards you get?????WOOT!

not that I will be there anytime soon just means that there will be more to trade!

I was there yesterday too and got similiar information. Mine was a bit more "we don't really know", "check back later in the month" blah blah blah
I asked about new quests and she did not have any information for me, so that goes along with the usual inconsistent information, which I hope they resolve.
We went to the ride first thing in the morning and it was not opened, went on TOT (10 minute wait)and as we walked by it again, it had just opened up so we jumped in line. It is cute and my favorite part was the door room and Roz at the end....very funny!

A note about the Tomorrowland quests....

My boss was just there this weekend and I asked her to do the quests for me. The Tomorrowland quest does have an expiration date printed on it of Jan 2, 2006. But she was able to still turn it in and get cards. It seems as if they were running low on cards for all quests or something. She didn't know what to ask for, but when she brought me the cards today, shd didn't have all of the ones that you usually get. I haven't gone through them to see what was missing, I just know that at least one card from each quest isn't there.

I did all the quests (including Tomorrowland) yesterday (new AP so it had not been scanned before) and I got all the cards.

I really think it depends on what CM is there at the time.

The current Fantasyland, Adventureland, and Frontierland quests all have an expiration of 30 Jan 2006

I was at Disneyland yesterday also and was told the door teleporter cards will be out mid-february. such mis-advertisement

I was at DLR over the weekend and I tried to turn in the tomorrowland quest and the cast member at the booth told me they were no longer accepting them. So I guess it does depend on who is manning the booth at that particular time. He was unaware that the tomorrowland quest was still available on the website.

i just got back from DWR yesterday and all my quest cards have expiration of 30 september 2006. and had no problem with tomorrowland quest. i am missing the quest pins (fantasyland,frontierland and adventureland),however. i got a POTC tour pin, even though there isn't a tour anymore, but no quest pins. oh well, i am happy with the things i did get, and that is all that counts.
