Update on DH

In case anyone is interested, here's an update on my DH.
The end result is that his right foot is completely smashed. We went to the orthopedic DR yesterday and had a full cast put on. Definitely not the gentlest DR in the world. DH is completely off his feet for a minimum of 8 weeks and then reduced weight for 3 to 4 months after that. So, he's completely out of work with no insurance for a minimum of 6 months!
But, he's already insisted that I reschedule our WDW trip for the same time next year. That must mean that he feels a tiny bit better.
Thank you for all your prayers and pixie dust, they mean a tremendous amount to us. We do count our blessings every day.

Of course we want an update! I am sorry the recovery time will be so long. That will be hard on his attitude if he's like most men. I am glad, though, that you are able to reschedule your trip. Maybe he can become a Diser while he's recuperating and he can do the planning!

Thanks for that update! I am so sorry to hear that his foot was completely crushed and that his recovery will be such a long period. Prayers that he will have a good and as speedy as possible of a recovery. I am just glad that you can reschedule your trip too

Glad you gave us an update!

Sorry DH's foot was injured to that extreme. That will be a long, tough recovery time.

Thanks everyone!
Yesterday was a very "weepy" day for me. I think everything just caught up to me. Plus, we found out that our 5 yr old neice broke her arm yesterday. She'll heal quickly but it sure does seem like our family is having bad karma right now.
We'll get through this together, and I always have the DIS shoulder to cry on.

A positive attitude is a great basis, 2disneywego!!! My best to you guys in the months ahead, and keep that rescheduled trip as a nice reward out there in the future. And my best for you niece too, ouch!!

DH insisted last night that we set the dates for our "rescheduled" trip so we booked the Vistana Resort for 10/22/03 - 11/01/03. DH says that will be his focus and reward through the months of rehabilitation.
He wants to thank everyone here for their support, it's been a great pick-me-up for him.

PS. take a look at my countdown, too many days, but at least there's a countdown.

OUCH, that sounds very painful. I hope the cast helps control the discomfort.

You should be able to plan a great trip over this coming year. I'm glad you are still planning to go

So sorry to hear about your DH. My thoughts are with you and hope that he has a speedy recovery. Tell him to stay off it and do what the doctor says!
