update on Deepak

We asked about Deepak on our Jan 19 cruise. *We had him in May 2006* and were told he had been off for about 2 weeks and was home to marry Gemma. Someone later in the week told us he had some back problems and that his contract wasn't renewed.

That's a shame. We've had Deepak as our server on our last two cruises and were planning on requesting him this summer for our third cruise.

That's great to hear that he married Jemma from Palo's. Jemma told us they were dating while we were on our first cruise in Sept. 2005.

We've had Gemma as our server in Palo, and Deepak was our dining room server back in 2004. We also saw him a lot on our last cruise when he had been promoted to a manager position at Topsiders. Sorry to hear he isn't contracted right now, but very happy to hear they did get married. We'll have to ask around on our May cruise.

Wow... if this is the same Deepak, then he was our assistant server in 2000. He was paired with Jean.

Deepak did indeed marry Gemma (Palo) on 20th January 2008 in Bombay, India. They had been working aboard the Disney Magic for almost 8years, and been dating for 5years. Many family/friends and crew members joined them in India for the wonderful ceremonies. They will be having an English ceremony shortly, when more Disney crew (past and present) will attend.

Deepak is NOT off sick: both he and Gemma have resigned from their work aboard the Disney Magic and have no plans to return for the foreseeable future. They will certainly miss their Disney guests and friends, but Im sure everyone will join me in wishing them both a long and very happy life together.

I second that. Deepak was the best server we have ever had. He has set the bar pretty high. He was also a really nice guy, so good luck to them both.

Good luck to them. We had Gemma in Palo twice on our last cruise and she was wonderful.
