Got back from the Ortho doctor and my broken knee is doing fine. He will be letting me remove the brace for short periods after next weeks visit (assuming nothing changes) so I will be able to be like a normal person at the dining table at OKW during our stay (19-26 July). I have to keep the hard cast on when I do moves from say to the car and he also suggested I keep it on in the MK as someone may bump into me. I can also put my feet into the pool and do my excerises so thats making me very happy.

Also want to thank everyone for bring up the DIS board and I will be renting a wheelchair that week. I cannot see a power scooter as since we have been members since 94 and going to Disney since the 70's we normally only do 1 or 2 parks at the most for a day each. This also give me time to catch up with my dad who is not doing so good. I got my mon and dad a Studio for 3 nights while we are there. Also got my sister and her family a 2BR for the whole week.

I actually had to borrow points to get my parents in but it was worth it. I am waiting for a call from my rep on buying a add-on at OKW (150-200 points) and am number 11 on the waitlist. The 270 we have a enough for us (5) for a week at OKW every year but would like to increase the time to be able to get some 8-10 day vacations.

Good news from the doc alwaiys makes vacatioms more fun.
Have a good, but safe time
Good luck on your resale

You may not have to rent one. They have them for free for the guest at OKW and BWV. Just ask for one. They take a deposit and you can use it for your entire stay, even take them to the parks.

If you do decide to do that, I'd still suggest you take along the phone numbers for some of the local medical equipment places. Some people have posted that the resort wheelchairs were great, but others have posted that what was available at their resort was not in the best condition or the size was not right (only narrow when they needed wide, etc). The resort will try to find what you need from another resort, but everything is first come, first served and it may take a few days to get an acceptable one. If you need elevating footrests, I believe you will need to rent one from off-site.
