Ok... I'm trying to see if this is possible?:worship: Could I move our current reservation to a new Kids sail free out of Miami and still keep my on board credit and 10% discount for booking on the ship and have the kids sail free? Has this been done? Or is that too many promotions?
Thanks!! Christine

You'd think after 6 cruises I would know this but I don't....:rotfl:

Thanks for the replies everyone! Here is my problem. We have the Greece cruise booked for June with my parents. My mom now needs major surgery in June. So I have to move our existing reservation to something. I currently have 10% and a $275 OBC and a $1,000 deposit on that cruise. I think the cruises that are 8 days out of TX going to WDW sounded fun in either March or April. It's during kids sail free, since my kid is only 4 the kids sail free discount is $600 and if you total our current 10% and OBC it also totals $600 so it's a wash. I can't seem to decide what to do. I can't use both KSF and 10%. DCL suggested I book a new one for KSF and just move out our existing reservation to a dummy one. But I really don't like the idea of having that $1,000 just out there for some future date when it could go towards a cruise now. Sorry for such a novel!! So I am basically asking what would you do in my circumstance? I don't know....

UPDATE!!! I ended up calling DCL twice today, boy the waits were LONG. (they said it was because of the new KSF dates). The second person was the most helpful. So if anyone is curious here is what I did. We moved our reservation to the 8 day out of Galveston cruise, the one that stops Key West, Castaway Cay and a day at WDW. (included in the cruise price) . We got the KSF promotion saving us $600, we lost the 10%, but we were able to keep the OBC of $275. YAY! We then transfered our $1,000 deposit so our cruise in April will be cheap. :thumbsup2 We've sailed out of LA, Seattle, Barcelona, and Port Canaveral with Disney so I guess now we are trying Galveston!
I really appreciate the opinions and being able to "talk this out" it wasn't easy to decide. So THANK YOU!;)

Some people have managed to switch to KSF after the penalty date without having to cancel and rebook, thereby losing the initial deposit or additional depending on how far out they are switching rates, but they lost the OBC and 10%.

I just went through this and no, you cannot take multiple discounts. I was not even able to get the credit for booking online or using my Disney Visa.

Well, currently you have a 10% discount that could go to any cruise AND a $600 KSF from TX. If you use the 10% discount, you essentially have blown that on a place where you can already get the $600 off with KSF. If you will only do one more DCL cruise, then you can use either one and it doesn't matter. If you will cruise DCL two more times, you probably should use the $600 KSF now, saving the 10% off for a future cruise.

I disagree. Move the current one & take advantage of the KSF and lose the 10%. Rebook while onboard the KSF cruise to get the 10% off back.

Well, you can still book a 10% off if you are on the cruise using KSF. With either method, you save $600 on the TX cruise. If you use KSF, you keep the 10% you have and can get another 10%. I guess the only advantage to using the 10% for the TX cruise is your $1000 deposit gets applied, so that is nice.

The $1000 deposit is the main reason I would change it. Unless they are a family that plans on cruising more than once a year, I don't see the point in having 2 outstanding 10% discounts at any point in time.

We often cruise once a year but this $1,000 deposit was made last year and pushing it out another year to book a new one with KSF seems like 2 years of having that $1,000 just sitting in a reservation. I wanted to use it if I could but the choices seem hard to actually make a decision.

If the discount it the same just move it to the TX booking and stay with your current discount so you don't have to mess with the deposit and such. If you will be taking another cruise in the future then book on board again while cruising. It doesn't make sense to me to keep that $1000 hanging out there.

We did what dcl offered you... but it was the advice of our travel agent... If you don't think you will go again or you need your down for the new cruise... then Change your date! We moved ours to the latest date in 2014 at this point!

Just to follow through.. $275 OBC ? Can you explain this.

My guess 200 OBB, 50 DCL visa? 25 online booking ? I know that's not right. Too many DCL codes. 75 TA?
TIA

Wow! I was always told they can't combine offers, that's great. Congrats.

To be clear, DCL did say they could not combine promotions. I couldn't have both the KSF and my 10% that I had on my original reservation, I had to pick one of them when I transferred it.... but since it was a reservation booked on board originally I was able to keep my OBC. I hope that clarifies. :thumbsup2
