Update on baby. We have been blessed

Last summer I wrote about my granddaughter, who was born 14 weeks premature. I am thrilled to report that she was discharged from CHOP after 5 months. They stayed with us for about a week, and left for their drive home to Aspen, Colorado. This has been a true blessing for me. Through this I have seen my son mature into a dedicated, responsible man. Though Delia is still on oxygen and tube feedings, both my son and DIL have jumped in like professionals. I am proud of them both. I took a lot of comfort from all the comments and wishes from all on this site. Believe me, it's helped me go on. I am looking forward to taking Delia to Disney World for her first trip, and in the meantime maybe another trip with my GD emily, who lives with me. For us, a blessed Christmas.

What a miracle! Blessings to your family and prayers for her continued improvement. My son was 7 weeks early and that was hard enough. I cannot imagine 14 weeks early and a 5 month hospital stay.

Thank you all again for your good wishes. We all wear braclets that say "Embrace the Journey" as that is what this has been.. Will keep them on as long as needed.
