I spoke to her mom a little while ago and she is doing pretty well. Her leukemia is very treatable but now they are dealing with secondary infections. Apparently one of the incisions that they made for bone marrow is infected.
She'll have to have chemo for a year but she should get better.
God (or someone) must watch out for babies because they found this purely by accident. Her mom took her older sister to the pediatrician for a headache and had the baby with her. The baby had had a cold for a couple of days and her mom asked the doc to check the baby too. When the doc checked the baby, they also checked her abdomen and they found that one of her organs was swollen. They thought it was a growth of some kind and sent her to the ER to be checked out. That is when they found the leukemia.
I am so glad that the pediatrician didn't just blow her off with "oh it's a cold".
Thanks everyone for your concern and please keep those prayers going.....
