I just wanted to let everyone know that we reserved a crib for our Dec vacation from A Baby's Best Friend. I received an email from them today saying they no longer set up/pack up cribs in the resorts. Instead, they deliver the crib in a box and the mattress in a sealed bag in the luggage room, and we have to assembe it ourselves, then disassemble and return to the luggage room prior to checkout. The email said it comes with instructions and should take about 15 minutes (also no tools).

I emailed them back to see if the price is now adjusted, but haven't heard back. I would assume their service is reduced (not that it was $$ before) since they aren't paying someone to set it up and break it down.

Anyway, we still plan to use them, but I wanted to pass that on since it definitely changes the convenience factor of this service.

That's too bad - we just used them in September for our 3 month old and they were wonderful. Crib was up and ready when we got there and they came to get it the morning we were leaving. I told her what great reviews she had on this site - I guess it goes to show how popular her business has become. If we go again while he's still a baby, I think we'd still use ABBF because the convenience of having that crib was priceless. I hope they send all the right tools that are needed to set it up! ::yes::

I talked to them today as we are checking into the Poly on Sunday and it isn't because they have too much work that they aren't setting the cribs up anymore it is because of room changes. She explained that they had them set up in rooms and then people decided they didn't like the room and wanted to switch. Well the hotel was dragging the cribs across the sidewalks and it broke more than one crib. So because of room changes they don't set them up they let you do it when you know you are settled in the room you want. She told me that they are fighting Disney right now for the price of one of the crib the bellman ruined. Broke the wheels and the wood of the crib which is costly. It is ashame that it had to be ruined.

Yeah, she explained to me about the room change situation in her email. It's really a shame because I know the last thing DH will feel like doing when we get to WDW is set up a crib. Plus, we arrive before check-in, so we were planning on going straight to the parks, and I'm sure we'll return with a sleeping baby ready for her crib.

But I still plan to use them and we'll work everything out. I was surprised that she emailed me back and said there would be no change in price since they are still competitive with other services in the area.

Oh I forgot to add - dlrhine, we are arriving on Sunday too! We're staying at POR with other members of my family. Have a great trip!

(any idea what's wrong with the counters? Both of ours says 32 days left?)

Our Counters are both at 5 days and 20 hrs? I don't know where you saw the 32 days? Anyhow maybe I'll bump into you. Our cast of characters are DH-Dave (30) Me-Diane Wife/Mommy (30) 2 DDs Hannah (2 3/4) and Sarah (18month) and my Mom aka MeMe (68). It should be fun! We are there from Dec. 7th-14th staying at Poly. We will be doing MVMCP on Dec. 9th. We will have lime green ribbon on our stroller hopefully.

I just figured it out! I recently switched to a new computer and the date wasn't set, so the counter was off. Oops!

We'll be there 12/7-12/13. It will be me and DH (both 30) and our DD Haley who is 13 months. It's our first trip with her so we are super excited. My parents are coming, along with my sister & her boyfriend. They are all going to MVMCP 12/11, but we haven't decided if we're up for it with the baby or not. We'll just have to see how she does in the evenings. Her normal bedtime is 7:30, so it's hard to say.

We'll have lime green ribbons on our stroller too! Have a wonderful vacation!

We just got back form WDW and saw this thread. Don't let the crib assembly worry you. . . it took us about 10 minutes with no tools or parts; everything is supplied and it was a piece of cake! It actually worked out better because we were in fact moved twice right after we arrived. I can see their point about room changes, it would have been a real problem if it had already been set up.

Shelly D., I don't know who else you contacted, but after reading your comment about competitive prices by other companies, I did some checking (ABBF is the only company we have ever used):

Other companies charge $45 for the "crib" (which is really a port-a-crib with a 1-1/2" mattress like a pack & play), $15 for linens, and $20 delivery.
ABBF www.abbf.com charges $65 for the week, includes 4" inner-spring mattress, includes linens, and includes delivery. PLUS the fact that it is a FULL CRIB like we have at home.

I would say ABBF is more than competitive; it looks to me like they are underpriced for the quality of equipment and service we receive. We have always used them and have always been very, very happy, crib assembly by us notwithstanding!

From reading this thread and discovering such a wonderful service..I just now made reservations for a full sized crib, a bed rail, a sit and stand stroller and toys from ABBF. :)

Many Thanks!!! ::yes:: ::yes::
