Hello Podcast friends. I usually don't post much around here, though I thoroughly enjoy reading everyone's ideas, stories, and more! (Much Much More!!)
I have a prayer request that I hope you can help me out with. This October, my parents will be celebrating their 40th Anniversary. My sister and I pulled together to take them to Disney - just my mom, dad, sister, me, and our kids. (No husbands!!) We have been beyond excited about it!
However....
My mother has been struggling the past 6 years with depression. She recently emerged from a two and a half year bout, where she remained in bed almost all day and attempted suicide a few times. It was horrible for our family, and left us all feeling helpless.
A year or so ago, she emerged - through medication and counseling and God's good will. We went ahead and planned this amazing anniversary vacation full of excitement that she would fully be able to enjoy it. We are now 100 days away from the trip, and my mom has taken a turn for the worse...
She is on a downward spiral and we are afraid she won't feel up to going on the trip. Not only does this pain me, it pains my mom, my dad, my sister, our children... everyone.
Please send prayers that the doctors caring for my mom can find the 'right' dose of meds and counseling, and that she finds the strength to make this trip with us. I can only imagine the depression that will follow if she has to cancel. Her name is Irene.
Thanks for reading/listening. I appreciate it with all my heart!

Update!
While my mom still isn't out of the woods yet, she and my dad have decided to go with us!! I think finally confirming her decision has actually lifted a weight from her shoulders and she sounds better already. Please continue to pray that her flight there is smooth and hassle-free and that she is able to take in the memories that we are going to provide for her and my dad. I spent the past few days making shirts for us and packing and making lists of things to do before we leave on Saturday. Thanks so much for your prayers, Dis-friends!!
And, by the way... I will be doing a trip report for this one, so if you'd like to see how things turn out, stay tuned! (I'll put a link in here!)
