Update: Magic Key Holder Settlement Reached, Plus Rumor: Renewal for Magic Key Holders Tomorrow?

The best estimate I can glean is that key sales may resume by the end of August or in early September. I'm waiting for an opportunity to get an Enchant Key as well.
This just in after taking a survey (with pricing):

re: Post $41, above

I see the word "New" splashed throughout that graphic ... but I don't see anything particularly new/different from Fall 2022? (Looks just like the renewal options I was given last year ...)

FWIW, I renewed my pass earlier this month.

Renewals are starting today? So we might see Key sales resume 30 days from now?

Very, very interesting.

To get the dates straight: Magic Keys were released in August of 2021. In August 2022, they had the first set of price increases and first round of renewals. So around now is when people who bought on day 1 will have their second round of renewals.

Looking back, Disney reopened Key sales in November of 2022. My guess is that there will be a price increase between now and when sales resume.

Thanks for the update. Looks like all DLR MK pass sales (excluding renewals) are suspended, but I don't know if that's a 'new thing' or if they've been suspended for some time now.

It happened in the past week.
Len Testa and Jim Hill discussed briefly on the Disney Dish podcast and their thought was that Disney needs to revise terms and conditions on the MKs to comply with settlement before they sell them again.

What else was listed in the settlement besides a monetary payout?

The most interesting part of the settlement to me was the 100,000 number of highest tier pass holders. That was more than I expected but perhaps in line with the 1 million overall pass holder number that is often bandied about.

If that's the case we might not see another sale until 2024?

Looks like I'll be going Inspire after all then.

Yep. The attorney in me says the settlement will take 6 months or longer to be executed. Disney is not going to start selling passes until the court approves everything and the case is closed. Settlements can be executed in a shorter time frame but 100,000 pass keys. I think 6 months.
