a bunch of things have gone terribly wrong. Things were actually looking up for me for awhile. I finished off a debt relief program, I was interviewed for a new job (didn't get it), I had plans to go to Paris in the fall etc (but that's not happenin).

A friend who also works at the insane groc store with the psycho boss's wife was just demoted form a manager to a normal full time employee because of many things but ultimately an argument that she and the wife had. Well that wasn't bad enough but some of her staff/friends on facebook printed out here status's and brought them in to work to show the boss. This was all planned by the woman who will become manager and the other who wants the full time position. He flipped out on me because I commented on one of them about certain people not being there would make the place better. No names mentioned but I was referring to the groc manager not the boss and his wife. so he is pissed at me and isn't speaking to me other than to say "That's really nice what you said on Nic's facebook, ya thanks real nice" I am at my wit's end I am ready to just flip right out!!!!! This isn't high school grow up for bloody sakes!!!! If we can't vent on our own facebook pages or eksewhere what are we supposed to do?

And now the more important thing. My dad has been having health problems and even collapsed awhile ago while out at Red Lobster. They had thought he had another heart attack but can't find anything wrong with his heart. So they did a scope and found a "growth" in his throat/stomach. They have done a biopsy and we are now watiing for results. His grandfather died of stomach cancer so this is big thing. We are all trying to downplay the likelihood of cancer to him but we all know that it very well might be. He said to me when I got home from work tonight "I'm not making plans beyond next month" I told him to stop acting like that, we don't even know what it is yet and try not to worry about it. I am not terribly close with my dad but still he's my dad and I don't want to lose him.

I just wish we could catch a break.

So sorry to hear about your Dad, I hope things get better.

As far as Facebook and all the other sites out there, including this one, you really have to be careful what you post. Employers check things out all the time!

Sorry to hear about the bad luck you're having lately. Sending good vibes to you and your Dad! :goodvibes

Mike's right. I've read several stories of people getting in trouble or even fired from their job for stuff they posted on fb. I don't really think it's right but it's part of life in the digital age. My friends and coworkers have been on my case to join fb but that's one reason I'm hesitant. I'm just not really sure I want everyone knowing everything about my life. If I did join, I'd definitely set up groups and restrict what can be seen.

Anywho, I hope things start to turn back around for you!

I hope things get better for you and your family. HUGS.

I'm so sorry.

I hope your dad is OK.

I think this is the first time I have heard of someone PRINTING OUT things from FB and purposely using it to get someone in trouble. :sad2: People are petty.

I so hope your Dad's results are not what you fear.

Can you talk with the boss/owner and let him know that you were NOT talking about the person he thinks you were. Tell him that since he's taking your personal 'net (off work time) interactions seriously in the workplace, you would appreciate the opportunity to clarify.

It is the reality of today though. If it's on the 'net, it's essentially public property and will/can be used against you.

I'll be sure to say some prayers for your father and hope that things turn around for you!

Best wishes!

Sorry things are tough right now so .

The whole 2 steps forward, one back but you're still moving forward.

As for your dad, it's hard to watch your parents suffer. Prayers from Rochester for you.

Hope you can keep your dad's spirits up -
I really think attitude plays a big role in health and healing -
Best of luck to you and yours!
:flower3:

Sorry to hear about your run of bad luck. I hope that you hear some good results when the report comes back for your dad.

Wishing your dad good health...as for the rest, read THE SECRET. I have found out that by casting aside negative thoughts & trading them in for POSITIVE ones, plays a HUGE part in my happines. GREAT things WILL come your way!

UPDATE my dad went to see the specialist today and was told that he has a hiatal hernia. his stomach has now come 4 inches up into his asauphagus. The doc doesn't think the mass around it is cancer but they don't have the results back yet. So at least we now know what's goiung on what he can do about it. Thanks for caring everyone :)

Glad to hear you got some good news, I'll continue to keep you and your family in my thoughts.

Well hiatal hernias are no fun, but it's sure a heck of a lot better than cancer.

He can actually have that surgically repaired. ::yes::

Hope the good turn continues for you!

hopefully he takes this seriously and does what the doctor tells him to do. thanks for the thoughts and prayers :)
