Dear All:

Roy is still in critical and guarded condition - but he is stable and has
not worsened any in the last 24 hours - a good sign. Our newest wrinkle is
renal failure - but it while not better - it isn't any worse so no dialysis
yet.

He is resting comfortable and was brought out of the meds enough today to
open his eyes shortly - a very welcome sight to us. His cardiologist said
he has made it far enough from Saturday we can hope for 'a full recovery'
barring any further complications.

Thanks for your continued prayers and wishes. I am saving all posts for him
to read when he is able.

Roy is a very special person and much loved. My thoughts have been with him all day, as well as my prayers for a complete recovery. I want him here on The DIS where he belongs, giving his Wild Wacky Wonderful WL Weatherman reports, smiling and laughing as usual.

Here is the latest update, from 2/26:

Dear Corky:


Dad is awake more and more now since the spinal block is gone. They
have him on morphin which gives us some limited time with him between
injections. But his pain level is still high.

When he first woke you can imagine the shock he had when he learned it
was day 5 and he was not in a regular room. He now knows what is going
on and that he has had a heart attack, heart surgery and on the
ventilator.

His favorite words to mouth are 'GET ME OUT OF HERE"

P.S. Dianne probably already told you this, but when he woke and saw
his canoe of Disney animals, he focused on them and got the biggest
smile on his face - just like a baby!!! It was really a special moment
and because that came from you all, it was like you shared in the moment
with us!
