Day 3: Epcot
New pictures are in Albums Sept 25 Epcot and some added to the CR Atrium Club album. http://s19.photobucket.com/albums/b175/DenisePersonal/
Left for Epcot around 10:30am and got there right at 11am. Rented a double stroller. The love bugs are out in full force and EVERYWHERE! they don't bite, but they sure are annoying. It was quite noticeable how absolutely dead Epcot was. The sign out front said all rides were 10 minutes or less without fastpass! Stopped at the Legacy Tile Center and got one for our DIS friend, June aka legalslave, who died of lung cancer on Sept 4 (see my signature picture). Then we went to Soarin. The standby line was less than 10 minutes. DS had an anxiety attack before the ride, so DH left with him. DD and DS and I LOVED it. It was our first time riding it, and I see why it is so popular. After Soarin', we headed to Restaurant Askershus for the PSB lunch. We ate here in December and really enjoyed it. Although the park was very quiet, the restaurants were bustling. We waited about 20 minutes for a table, so the kids went to the KidCot station and got their masks with their first charm and stamp. At lunch we saw Belle in her blue dress, Ariel in her ballgown, Cinderella, Jasmine, and Aurora. Aurora was the featured photo package today. As that is my kids favorite princess, we did buy it for $31. it's a really good picture. DS's both had cheese pizza, DD had the grilled chicken, I had the cheese soup with open salmon sandwich, and DH had grilled chicken and pasta. We enjoyed the food and the cold bar. And the desserts were yummy (rice cream with strawberries, chocolate mousse cake, and a fruit cheesecake).
After lunch, we went to the Living Seas to see Turtle Talk with Crush. The kids sat on the front row, and Crush asked Davis a question. Well, Davis got so tickled when he tried to answer that he said his name was "Dallslkjdfkajskj". Crush said DH and I must have been having fun when we named him. Said Davis reminded him of Dori. It was funny. We walked around the Living Seas. DD wanted to ride Test Track so we headed over there. We literally walked straight on in less than 2 minutes. It was our first time on it as well. We loved it.
After the rides, the kids wanted to start their masks. Started at Mexico and rode the River Ride (Rio del Tempo?). It was very cute. Worked our way around World Showcase. Got every stamp and saw TONS of characters with no lines. Mulan and Mushu, Snow White and Dopey, Belle and Beast, Genie, Aladdin and Jasmine, Sleeping Beauty, Pooh and Tigger, and Alice in Wonderland. Got tons of great pictures. DS got 2 big kisses on his cheek from Aurora and Mulan. He kept showing everone because he was so proud! When we finished the Kidcot masks, they each got a really cool poster to take home.
We had ADRs at Biergarten at 6:30pm. The food was good, and I had a wonderful LARGE beer (Spaten something). Yummy! The show was wonderful and definitely the best part. The kids and I danced the entire performance. I was exhausted, but it was really fun. After dinner we walked around Germany and looked at all the shops and the miniature train. Then we found a nice spot across from Norway to watch Illuminations. I haven't seen it since 1995 on our Disneymoon, and the kids had never seen it. We got chocolate chip cookies, a sweet pretzel, and a school bread to eat during the show. We thought it was great.
ETA: all the booths are set up for the Food and Wine Festival starting on Friday.
Left Epcot after Illuminations. Got back to the CR and put everyone in bed. We are going to AK in the morning. We were going to eat breakfast at AK with Donald, but I think I'm going to cancel it and sleep in a little. After AK, we have ADRs at WCC and then may go over to Fort Wilderness to watch the campfire and movie.
Glad everyone is enjoying the live report. Thanks for all the nice comments. And I am still sick. I'm pretty sure it is Bronchitis now. But I'd rather be sick at WDW than sitting at home any day. It's not going to spoil my fun!
