UPDATE 7/16 TR Link Posted! The "I-Must-Be-Crazy" PTR - July 2012

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: for a tax refund and getting all of "your" stuff paid off. Now hopefully the others come through soon. I hope your sister does well on her bar exam.

And keeping fingers, toes, arms, legs....everything...crossed for the job.

How about Lumar? Has he found anything?

It's exciting knowing that your trip is paid off, isn't it?

Thanks, Kathy! I have everything crossed too! Nothing for Lumar yet...he has a meeting for his unemployment next Wednesday so at least if that goes well he can start collecting again but in the meantime, no call backs regarding any of the jobs he's applied for. :sad2:

Yay for buying your tickets and everything!! That's always an exciting day!

Good luck to your sister with her bar exam! And good luck to you with the job!!! :goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes

Thanks, SB! :goodvibes (and thanks on behalf of my sister, too! She is REALLY looking forward to vacation - and just a break in general from all the studying!)

Job searching really bites the big one, if I do say so myself. I want to get this job just so that I can stop looking! It's so disheartening to search for days and not find a single job I'm qualified for! :headache:

It's 6:50pm on Saturday night...I'm supposed to be making dinner (I was supposed to start making dinner like an hour ago) and instead, I'm sitting here DISing.

Aside from my sister's bar exam results (she starts the exam on Monday and it goes through Wednesday), which she won't get until April... Our trip is basically 90% booked (although I'm terrible in math so that's just a rough guestimate)

Airfare has been booked for me, Lumar, my brother Mike, and my cousin Tommy. The 4 of us our flying out of Hartford, and ALREADY our flight times have been bumped up! Instead of landing at 1:45pm we're now scheduled to land at 10:50am!

My cousin Toni and her fiance Josh will be leaving from Boston and they will get to Orlando around 12:10pm

My sister and her BF will be driving from South Carolina. She wants to leave around 4am so they will arrive in Orlando around 1pm.

I bought my park ticket last week and......

AlisParkTicket.jpg

it arrived on Thursday! I bought Lumar's today and paid off what he still owed for the room and his airfare (everything was booked on the Disney Visa so we should have a nice amount of Disney Rewards Dollars to use!)

At this time in 135 days, we'll all be eating our first dinner of our trip at T-Rex! :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

Yay for your trip getting closer!!! Best of luck to your sister this week!!!

And yay for getting your park ticket!!!!:banana::banana:

Yay you're trip is getting close now! Once you get under 100 days it starts to fly by! :thumbsup2

What airline did you book with? (Did you already say in a different update? Sorry, I don't remember! :rolleyes1) That's cool that you are getting to FL earlier!

Yay for buying your tickets and having almost everything booked! Everything is coming together! :woohoo:

It still seems so far away but about once a week I get crazy excited all over again! I can't wait!

We're flying JetBlue :thumbsup2 Free bags, plus I get to pick our seats...can't beat that! If Southwest let us pick seats, we'd probably fly with them instead because their rates are usually cheaper but I like to sit with people I know

Well, we're almost exactly at the 4 month mark! It seems like it's still a long way off, but at the same time it feels like just yesterday I was beginning to plan everything!

I don't think I told you all yet but about 3 weeks ago, I started Weight Watchers again. I did it in the beginning of 2012 and I lost about 20lbs between February - October. Then, of course, we went to Disney in October and I fell off the bandwagon and have been having a hard time getting back on. So I joined WW again and have lost 2.5lbs so far. I'm not expecting a miracle before our trip in July but if I can lost 1lb a week until then that will be a total of 18.5lbs lost and THAT will make me happy.

In other news....Lumar and I went to Rainforest Cafe on Tuesday for his birthday (RFC reminds us of being in WDW so we go there to celebrate our birthdays :cutie: ). The restaurant is inside the mall so while we were there we visited the Disney Store. For those that don't know, Lumar and I are obsessed with Pin Trading. So when Vinylmations came out, we vowed to NOT get into it because Pin Trading is expensive enough as it is. Well then, Disney had to screw up and make a Lion King Vinylmation set. So I just HAD to buy a couple and that got me hooked. I don't feel the need to collect entire sets, thankfully...except of course for The Lion King which sold for all of a week and then went away so I only have 2 from that set.... but other than that, I just usually want specific ones.

These are the ones we have so far:

When we went the other night, we got one that is a duplicate and one we just didn't want so we're going to trade them in WDW in July.

So much for not getting into Vinylmations, huh? :sad2:

Moving right along.... My cousin Toni bought the park tickets for herself and her fiance, Josh, yesterday! And both my brother and sister have paid me for what they owed on their OKW rooms. Tomorrow, I'll be picking up money from my brother and my cousin Tommy for their airfare and their park tickets. My sister is going to wait to order her park tickets. She doesn't want to buy them until she knows for sure that she has passed the bar exam, and she won't know that until April.

She and her BF Rob also decided that they are going to go to WWoHP one day during our trip. Since this is probably the only vacation they will have for a long while, they want to get in as much stuff as possible. They actually went down to Florida last spring for a few days and did a few hours at Epcot, so they are going to go to WWoHP on our 2nd Epcot day, and then meet us back at Epcot for dinner.

Oh! And not to end on a bad note or anything...but after 2.5 years of talking about it, I have officially been laid off from my job. Last Friday was my last day so I've been unemployed for a week now. I didn't think it was bothering me but I guess that subconsciously I was really freaking out. I didn't sleep well for a few days and my face started breaking out like crazy (I'll be 30 at the end of this year...I'm a little old for that!!)....BUT, I got my letter from the Dept of Labor that tells me what I'll be making on unemployment and it's actually MORE than what I was bringing home while working! My paychecks from work were deducting money for my benefits and my 401(k) where my unemployment will JUST be taking out taxes. So now I feel A LOT better about things.

We also decided to go month-to-month at our apartment for the month of April. Our lease expires on March 21 and we are currently looking into an opportunity to rent the house that one of my relatives who passed away had lived in. There are a few things going on with the house right now that involves my aunt and uncle (who are the owners of the house) going to court. They go back in a few weeks and hopefully we can get everything squared away. If we are able to move there, we will save probably $500 a month on rent. If we signed a new lease at our current place, we'd have to pay a fee of anywhere from $1200 - $2500 to break the lease. If we go month to month, we pay a higher monthly rate, but there is no fee if we decide to leave. So, if we are able to take the house after this next court date, we only had to pay the higher monthly fee for one month, and we can move out at the end of April. Of course, my mother is ALSO moving towards the end of April and we told her we'd help her...but she lives in North Carolina.... So it's actually a GOOD thing that Lumar and I are both unemployed right now..because we might need to pack up our own place in a huge rush.

So...I think that about covers it for now! Have a great weekend!

Yay for 4 months until your trip!!!

Hahaha we've never gone down the slippery slope that is pin trading or Vinylmations! I go nuts enough with the Disney kitchen accessories I keep getting! :rotfl:

I'm sorry to hear that you've been laid off - best of luck to you!! I hope something great comes along soon! :goodvibes

Oh wow, that's a lot going on! I really hope you get to live in the house; we've gone from renting an apartment to a house and I like the house so much better. It definitely feels more like your own space compared to the apartment.

I hope you find a great new job soon!

We have the Baloo and Kim Possible Vinyls too! Totally jealous of your Lion King ones. I missed them somehow (my boyfriend keeps on top of vinyl news more than I do ;))

Congrats on four months!

OMG I'm so jealous of your Alice Vinylmations! :rotfl: Haha, when I'm missing Disney, I usually drag Brandon to the RFC, it reminds me of being in Disney too!

Hope you find a new job soon, although, I'd take advantage of that unemployment for a while! :yay:

I always browse the kitchen stuff but I never actually buy anything! :confused3 I have one ice cube tray that I got (and I think it was at the old Disney Store in NYC...not even in WDW), and we got two bowls and two plastic cups with Mickey and Minnie on them from Target a couple weeks ago. That's the extent of my kitchen collection. Pins and vinyls are expensive and addicting! Hold out for as long as you can! I've known for over 2 years that I was getting laid off...it's kind of a relief to have it actually be over with after all this time!

Congrats on four months!

The house we'd be renting is small...the bedrooms are teeny tiny (as in probably ONLY our bed will fit) and there is NO closet space. But there is a full kitchen, a separate full dining room, and then a living room so over all there is more living space. It's in the town we WANT to live in, and the monthly rent will be (hopefully) way cheaper than what we pay for the apartment. I'd like to be able to finally pay off some bills and then save up money for a down payment on a house, so I'm hoping it all works out!

I love the new Vinylmation Animation Series! There are so many from this set that I want!

I'm definitely enjoying the time off, so far! I've been officially unemployed for a week and let me tell you...I could get used to this! I like having time to take care of basic things...like cleaning the bathroom....or going to the post office. I used to have to do EVERYTHING on the weekend and then I felt like I never HAD a weekend! Like I just worked 7 days a week! Since I know I've got paid insurance through the end of August, and I'll be getting unemployment for 26 weeks, I am NO rush. If I find a job doing something I actually LIKE, I will take it. But in the meantime, I don't feel pressured to just take any old job, where I'll be miserable.

Lumar said we can go back to West Farms...But I really can't see the point in driving all the way there just to go to the Disney Store...We'll see how long I can hold out!

Sorry I missed that first cool Countdown photo (that was the day of the proposal), but I'm here for this one...and I'm loving it.

And even better to hear that Lumar got a job. Sweet! :goodvibes

Yay for Lumar's new job!!!!!! :yay::yay::yay: Congratulations to him!!

And yay for almost double-digits!!! :cool1::cool1:

Thanks! He's really excited to start working again and a friend of ours works there as well so the chances of him being able to carpool some days is pretty good (which is great because we only have 1 car!)

And YAY for almost Double Digits! I can't believe how fast the time is going! I seriously considered digging our luggage out of the basement yesterday but I think it's still a bit too early for that!

Although I have started preparing my backpack....:rolleyes1

Wow, almost time for the double digit dance! And yay for Lumar getting a new job, that's awesome! :cool1:

I might be going to Westfarms on Saturday...I'm almost hoping they are out of Vinyls at the Disney Store, since my trip is so close, but I know if they have them, I'm gonna buy one...:rolleyes1

I can't WAIT to be doing the Double Digit Dance! Your trip is so close! Seriously you get 3 trips before I even get my 1! So not fair! :rotfl2:

Good luck at West Farms....IDK if they will have any of the Alice in Wonderland ones left but they should have some of the Animation ones....I REALLY want Flower and Tigger....maybe I'll see if we can go again tomorrow... :rolleyes1
