UPDATE 7/16 TR Link Posted! The "I-Must-Be-Crazy" PTR - July 2012

Great ADR choices! I can't wait to hear what you think of the Wave, I'm interested in it, but I never hear anything about it!

Captain's Grille is very good, and no one goes there! I don't get it!

I LOVE 'Ohana, one of my favorites!!

I wish I had a trip to plan ADR's for! :sad1:

We haven't been to all of those, just The Wave, Captain's Grill, and San Angel. We really liked all of them! Of course, we did the Wave for breakfast but it was nice and quite and the wait staff was excellent. I really recommend the malt and vinegar fries at Captain's Grille (it was an app) and the chicken sandwich (I love prosciutto though) - both were incredible and my boyfriend ended up "sharing" the fries instead of eating his sandwich (nothing wrong with it, he just wasn't in the mood for a burger). And San Angel was good too, but the tables were close together. The dulce de leche ice cream was divine.

Yes, the dulce de leche ice cream IS divine...it's the dessert I get every time we eat there! The tables ARE close together but it doesn't bother me as much as the tables in Crystal Palace...maybe because it's dark in there I don't notice as much...:confused3

I'll have to keep the malt & vinegar fries in mind..they sound tasty!

We had The Wave on our breakfast list last year and didn't make it to our reservation...:rolleyes1

Thanks! I'm so excited for Disney food! Planning ADRs kind of sucks because it makes me want NOTHING but Disney food! I get miserable coming home to make dinner because it won't be DISNEY!

You COULD plan your ADRs for September... it will give you plenty of time to oogle the Food Porn thread and make 128 changes! just sayin! :rolleyes1

The only one on your list that I've been to is CP, oddly enough... And I liked it :)

And you call yourself a former Cast Member! ;)

It's funny because when Lumar's brother worked at DHS, he only ever did stuff IN that park...he hardly ever went anywhere else so I can understand that you would probably only eat at MK :goodvibes

Well, not only the "I work at ___, so I spend most of my time there", but I wasn't always able to afford the TS restaurants. I've eaten at nearly every CS at MK, though, with the exception of the restaurants that were only open seasonally (like the one by Pirates). But yeah, that logic works, too :lmao: I do want to eat at just about every restaurant on property at some point, though.

I really want to try Rose and Crown and might go there on my next trip.

well now i just feel bad! R & C is great! You should definitely give it a try! And try to get a table on the patio! It's so nice!!

:rotfl: Don't feel bad :) It's just part of being a CM. Besides, I was usually in the park alone and didn't want to go to a TS alone on an everyday kind of day. :)

OK your dislike of Stitch I can overlook :rotfl2: but how can you NOT like family style? It's like buffet but your food is actually HOT when you get it, and no strangers have put their grubby little hands all over it! You should look past your undying hatred of Stitch for just a couple hours and try Ohana for breakfast just ONCE! It's our favorite breakfast spot in all of WDW!

See, it's not so much "family style", as it is what is in the family style servings. I don't eat eggs or fruit, so there's not much there for me to eat. :sad1: And we always go to CP so that we are first in line and the food is fresh and those "grubby" hands haven't gotten there yet. :rotfl2::rotfl2:

I really want to know what you think of the Wave because it is on my possibility list for September.

ooohhh OK well that makes more sense! :rotfl2: I was like what's wrong with family style??? :rotfl:

I'm really looking forward to our dinner at the wave! I had a lot of people request it based on the menu, and I haven't read any bad reviews so I'm sure it will be a good time!

Ok so after reading Rachael's (aka DisneyCrafter) review of California Grill, Lumar and I decided we didn't want to wait until 2013.

So I emailed The Mob and everyone agreed that we should go there for dinner! We ended up swapping it with dinner at Ohana on our last night. Ohana is fun and all, but we ARE going there for breakfast and I honestly thought that the bread pudding was the best part (well...that and the Pina Colava! :lovestruc )

So now I'm really super excited all over again!

175 more days to go! (Gosh that feels like SUCH A LONG TIME!!)

We've never done California Grill; actually with the exception of Brown Derby (which we did not like), we've never done a Signature restaurant. I can't wiat to hear what you think about it because this is the one I would take Mark too if we did one.

We've never done it either and the only reason it sparked an interest is because we just recently discovered that we like sushi  We were going to wait until our anniversary trip in 2013 but I figured why not see if we could get it in this year? The only other signature that we've done was also Brown Derby and we were NOT happy with it. The dessert was the best part (strawberry cheesecake and it was REALLY good) but the entrees were like maybe 2 steps above being bad.

Agreed; our meals were awful (I sent mine back twice and they still couldn't get it right and the service was awful). I've never had sushi, but I've seen lots of reviews with meals I would enjoy.

Ugh I had order the roast chicken and the only part that had any flavor was the skin. The meat was totally bland and cold and the rice it came with was just nasty. Lumar had order the steak, well done. It came out bloody. He sent it back and it came out medium rare. Our server was basically non-existent and he didn't want to wait any long to eat so he just ate it as it was.

The cheesecake was VERY good but it's not worth going back for a full meal.

I'm definitely making CA Grill a must do on our next trip! I keep reading such great reviews about it, so I have to try it! The only signature I've done is Artist Point, and it was really good, but I'm thinking CA Grill will be better! I think you made the right choice switching from 'Ohana to there! :cool1:

Honestly, my brother LOVES sushi and I felt TERRIBLE about booking Cali Grill for 2013 when I know he won't be going with us. So I really wanted to book it for July anyway. I just needed to sit on it long enough to come up with a plan for working it in! I'm so excited for this trip! I don't want to rush it away but seriously, 173 days is just much too long!
