UPDATE 7/16 TR Link Posted! The "I-Must-Be-Crazy" PTR - July 2012

Your arrival day plans sound great -- and we're doing the same--swim, DTD, dinner (only at Raglan Road) and shopping.

Ali, I LOVE your first "full day" plans. What better than starting with the MK, an empty Main Street, breakfast with Pooh and friends (don't forget the puffed french toast), a break for dinner and then ending it all with the best fireworks -- Wishes. :goodvibes

Thanks, Kathy!

I agree! Lumar and I usually start with Epcot, but I think starting it off with an empty MK will be extra magical, at least for the people who have never seen it that way!

I agree! I like an even number for ride purposes and I'm not usually superstitious but the number 13 was kind of freaking me out lol :rotfl2:

Not being able to break into groups of 2 for a car is the worst, especially when everyone is a teenage girl on the class trip unwilling to take the hit and ride by herself. Not that that's ever happened to me or anything. :rolleyes1

Mmm, the Wave. We have a breakfast ADR for December, but the dinner menu is very tempting too! I like how the food is different enough from most other places in Disney - plus fancy chicken'n'waffles!

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: When we used to go on family vacations, my dad would always end up riding with a stranger (or alone) so me and my brother could sit together!

I'm SO excited to try The Wave! We had a breakfast reservation there last year but we didn't make it because Lumar got sick. I love trying new places so I'm looking forward to it!

This is Lumar checking in for the absurdly early pre-trip report. :rotfl2: I am so excited for this trip and cant wait for it to get here. I really hope none of us get ill like I did on our last trip. It was horrible. Hopefully no one else drops out either. Looking forward to reading and adding to this pre-trip report and making new friends here on the board. :goodvibes

Hi, Lumar. It is not ABSURDLY early (I started mine quite a bit ahead of time ;) ); I hope you don't get ill too.

Yes it IS absurdly early because I don't have nearly as many friends as you to keep this thing going for the next 46 weeks! :rotfl2:

And I also hope he doesn't get sick again because I will totally go to all of our ADRs without him! BWAH HA HA!!! :stir: JK :upsidedow

I was trying to do this update last night but the internet was giving me trouble so I had to save it for today....Plus, I was going to do 2 days worth in this update but because of the internet issues, I couldn't upload any more pics to Photobucket.

Wednesday July 11

Wednesday morning, we'll get up and probably go here for breakfast:

okw68.jpg

Or maybe we'll just hop on a bus for here:

IMG_20101020_220611-1.jpg

(except it will be daytime...:rolleyes1)

and eat here:

sseasons1.jpg

Depends on what time we get up, I think, since I want to get decent FP times for Soarin.'

Some Mob members may opt to take a break in the afternoon to head back to OKW for a swim/nap (which may not be such a bad idea depending on the weather).

For dinner, we'll have ADRs here:

rosecrownsign.jpg

We'll definitely be staying for Illuminations and then heading back to OKW afterwards (unless there are EMH, in which case we may hang out for a while).

Thanks again to AllEars.net for some of the pics!

So now that Irene is gone.... I can get back to business as usual and hopefully I'll be able to post the next day's plans tonight!

Hey Ali! I'm joining in. Sounds like you've already had quite the roller coaster planning this trip. I find the more people involved, the harder it gets. I'm sorry to hear how both of you have been laid off work. I hope something comes up soon. In the meantime, you'll get lots of time to plan your trip :goodvibes

Ali, these plans sound great. I really want to try Olivia's, but I have no where to fit it in. :sad2: We love Sunshine Seasons for breakfast. We are doing Rose & Crown this trip too.

So now that Irene is gone.... I can get back to business as usual and hopefully I'll be able to post the next day's plans tonight!

I hope you had no damage from Irene where you are at.

Hi Jen! Thanks for joining in! Yes - it's been crazy so far (and frustrating!) but now we're just kind of in that lull where it's too early to plan specifics so we just keep emailing each other about stuff we already know.

Thanks, Kath! I have to eat breakfast in the mornings or else I turn into a very mean person....and it HAS to be breakfast food...if i have to eat pizza or something for breakfast it does NOT make me feel better. And since there aren't very many QS places in the parks that serve breakfast, we'll probably be eating there most mornings!

And, no, we just got a lot of rain here...some parts of the state got badly flooded but we were lucky here!

Thursday July 12

This day is a little sketchy right now because of the canceling of the Grand Gathering Events. So there are two separate plans going for this day as of right now:

Plan 1:

If Grand Gatherings are repackaged as something else, but stay relatively the same, we'll be getting up and going here for breakfast again:

okw68.jpg

Then we'll hop on a bus, and go here:

IMG_1088.jpg

After spending the day in the park, we'll head here for the Grand Gathering Safari Celebration Dinner:

DSC00004.jpg

As it is right now, you get a private safari, then dinner at Tusker House with a special character meet and greet.

Plan 2:

If Grand Gatherings are not reinstated, then we'll go here for breakfast:

DSC00004.jpg

And after playing in the park all day we'll go here for dinner:

jiko.jpg

Regardless of the plans for meals, after dinner, we'll either be heading to Jellyrolls at the Boardwalk or to Cirque du Soleil at DTD...or maybe both if The Mob decides to split up for the evening.

Friday July 13

Woooooooo Friday the 13th!!!

And (spoiler alert!) we'll be headed here today:

IMG_1943.jpg

So we can ride THIS:

IMG_0677.jpg

Since I want to get FPs AND get in line right away for TSMM...I'm thinking we'll get up early and head straight to the park, get in line and have one or 2 people get FPs for another ride through later in the day, and then go here for breakfast:

starrolls2010a1.jpg

We'll take a break around 1:30 or so for lunch here:

And then head back to DHS for another spin on TSMM and of course...

Ali, I like either set of plans for Thursday depending on the Grand Gathering resolution, and your plans for Friday are awesome--and includes my favorite ride -- TOT! Despite the fact that the Studios is our least favorite park, I really hate that we don't get to see Fantasmic (it is my favorite after Wishes).

I honestly prefer Illuminations over Wishes but we can't NOT watch Fantasmic! Do you guys get base tickets or hoppers? We always do base tickets for the whole trip but then on our last day, we change the one remaining day on our ticket to a hopper pass so we can do whatever we want on our last day without having to pay for hoppers for the whole week. You guys should definitely try to watch Fantasmic this year....Several years ago, there were rumors they were changing the show and I kind of passed it off as just a rumor...BUT that rumor was mentioned along with a rumored plan to expand Fantasyland....so now I'm paranoid that they're going to mess with Fantasmic!

We do park hoppers because we do not spend a full day at AK or the Studios (1/2 to 3/4 day at AK and then only 1/2 day at the Studios). Unfortunately, with our final schedule, Fantasmic is just not in the cards. :sad1:

Hey, it happens! With all the time we've spent in WDW, there are a lot of things that haven't made it into the cards yet! Just repeat after me: "There's always next time!" :thumbsup2

Yay Captain's Grille! We have an ADR there just because I want to walk the Boardwalk. And of course I have to check out the cupcakes at Starring Rolls. For a park with so much 'bad' food, I certainly have a lot of food breaks planned for our DHS day.

I feel you about the breakfast thing - I need breakfast everyday or I just don't wake up and then no one really wants to be around me! :rotfl:

We had an ADR for Captain's Grille for our 2010 trip but since my BF got sick, we didn't make it. I wanted something that was close enough to DHS that we could get there and back easily. We're planning to take afternoon breaks on this trip (which is something that Lumar and I hardly ever do) and I'm afraid that if we go back to the hotel on our DHS day, we won't go back since we aren't eating a TS dinner there. So I figured I'd make a lunch ADR for that day and use that as our break time, then we can go back to DHS after we eat and then eat QS for dinner so that we can make sure we get in line for Fantasmic.

DHS has a lot of good "junk" food...they just need to really overhaul their TS options, IMO. I've never been to 50s because I'm not a fan of being messed with when I'm eating and from what I've read, they have the best food in the park. The last few times I've been to Sci-Fi, I've been less than impressed, I was really disappointed with Brown Derby, and I've read too many bad reviews about H & V to really give it a chance.

But the junk food....that's another story! :cloud9:
