UPDATE 6/14 Our Amazing and Totally Yummy QSDP Quick Service Reviews May 12-19 PICS

Love your reviews!! I have been determined to take DH & Mom to different CS restaurants since last year. Can't wait to impress them again. I'm excited to try Kringla.. Yum!

Awesome reviews. Thank you!! I am taking careful notes for our December trip. Big thanks for reviewing the Italian food and qualifying what type of Italian you are accustomed to. My situation is similar and I often find myself disappointed with Italian when I eat it out. Good to know that I can get some good quality Italian while down there :-)

Great reviews and pics. When we go we were planning on doing mainly quick service meals and with your reviews and pics it appears I won't have to worry about finding good food.

I am loving your reviews! I'm glad you showed the Contempo -- we didn't go there last visit but am thinking of it this time (and you are convincing me!). Shhhh ... don't let on how great Captain Cooks is .... and congrats on your first DOLE WHIP!!! :lovestruc

Thanks for taking the time to review! :thumbsup2

Great photos and enjoyable reviews!

I have to have one of those lemon cupcakes! I adore lemon cake! I hope they have them in other places than the Contempo Cafe--would be helpful if they sell them at Roaring Forks.

Wednesday after AK we went to Riverside Mill @ POR for dinner and unfortunately hubby forgot the camera again. Yes, you might notice I keep saying "hubby forgot the camera." You are probably thinking why the heck didn't she (I) just grab it. In all honesty I forgot too :confused3 Anyhoo :lmao:

I will use my creative description skills to give you details that will almost be as good as a picture.

POR Riverside Mill Rate this an A. Really fresh and good. I had the make your own salad. I literally could have eaten this every night and not gotten sick of it. It was that good. I ordered Romaine lettuce and added cooked steak, carrots, cucumbers, dried cranberries, feta cheese, grape tomatoes, kalamata olives, croutons and mixed it all with ranch dressing. THE BEST!! It was so huge and I mean huge that I couldn't even nibble on my dessert. Really great CS option. DH got the Roast Beef and Blue Cheese on Ciabatta with homemade chips. Another winner and I believe my ds got the same. They had them toasted and they loved it. For dessert my ds and I got the GIANT magic cookie bar which had chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, coconut etc. We snacked on it the next day and it was soooo good. DH got the super size brownie and loved it. This was a great CS location and it was just a short pleasant boat ride from POFQ. Highly recommend.

Thursday we had made ADR for O'Hana's at the Poly and we were paying out of pocket.. In hindsight I wouldn't have done this. We did this in case we were so sick of counter serve but we weren't in the least. We had eaten here before and knew the food would be good but still and all I wouldn't pay OOP for this ever again. After we paid paid our $120 for this meal I just shook my head and thought it was good but they rushed us and it was NOT worth the money we shelled out. Full review of O'hana's to follow.

Thursday morning we were going to head back to Hollywood Studios. We had a 5:20 ADR for O'hana's so we knew we would have an extra QSD credit for that evening. We decided on breakfast at POFQ before we started our day.

POFQ Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory Rating a B. The food was good, not great but good. It's breakfast food so you really can't ruin it so it was fine. I had chocolate chip pancakes with bacon. The pancakes could have been a bit warmer and the bacon definitely needed to heated a bit more. They did give me 4 pancakes so it was a large serving and I shared with hubby. Hubby had a cheese omelet and ds had the Bounty platter which had everything on it...eggs, mickey waffles, potatoes, biscuit, bacon, sausage. The Bounty Platter was actually a pretty good use of a QSD credit. They really gave you a lot of food.

Great Reviews! :goodvibes After reading I'm A. Super Hungry and B. even more anxious to get to Disney (if that's even possible at this point!) :rotfl:

Thursday eveing we had ADR at O'Hana's. As I stated earlier I would never pay OOP for this again. It was good but they rushed us terrible. We were still eating salad and they started bringing around the meat. It was a total waste of food as we were trying to eat the meat and the dumpling, noodles, and salad at the same time. Oh well you live and learn. If we had the regular dining plan and could of gotten this for free I would glady take it. I just wouldn't pay for it again.

O'Hana's a solid B. The food was fine. The salad and bread were my favorite part I think. Both really good. The dumplings were overdone around the edges to the point we couldn't chew them and just ate the soft center. We never touched the broccoli. The noodles were tasty. The wings were very soft and the skin mushy, not the way I remembered them at all. The meats were average. I didn't like the pork AT ALL. It was SO salty it wasn't even funny. The steak and shrimp were good though. Sorry I know this place always gets stellar reviews but it just was a bit disappointing for us :confused3

The bread and our drinks. Hubby had the MaiTai and I had I ahd some fruity rum drink. Sorry I can't remember the name.

**Now I LOVE and I mean I adore bananas foster sauce. I could drink the stuff. When our dessert came out which was Ohana bread pudding served a la mode with Bananas and Caramel Sauce there were 3 tiny slices of bananas in the entire dish of caramel sauce. WHAT?? I wanted more of the sauce and less of the bread. Oh well! The bread pudding was a bit dry but the ice cream helped.

I am loving your review!!! I am looking forward to the snack reviews too. My family and I are going this fall and I was a bit worried about only having 1 snack credit now, so your words have been very encouraging. Can't wait to see the rest!!!

I agree with you on Ohana, the shrimp, salad and noodles are great. To me the meats are like beef jerky all most!

Great reviews!

We felt a bit rushed on our visit to 'Ohana's also. Like you, we had just gottent the salad when the meat started coming. I told the server that we were not ready for the meats yet. He looked at me a bit funny, but left and we didn't see any meat until after our noodles and broccoli arrived.

Friday morning we headed back to the MK for our last day. I loath the "last day" of Disney :sad2:

We had lunch at Columbia Harbor House again and our camera was acting up so AGAIN we had no pics of this meal. It was again perfection. We had the tuna sandwiches and fried shrimp platters! Everything was fresh and tasty. This is one of our favorite counter places ever!

We went back again in the evening to MK and I wanted soup. Yup, I wanted good old fashioned chicken noodle soup. I knew Cosmic Rays had some so that was our last nights choice.

Cosmic Rays This place was very good. I would give it a B+. Cosmic Rays has a nice fixins bar so that is always a plus. I adore the hot melted cheese product that they have (I hesitate to call it a food...lol). I had the Turkey Sandwich which was loaded with fresh turkey and tomatoes, onions lettuce. It was HUGE! I only ate half and gave hubby the other half. I also got the chicken noodle soup and used a snack credit for it. It was hot, chickeny, and the best part was it had Mickey shaped pasta in it. It totally hit the spot. The sandwich also came with fries. Hubby and son had the Angus Bacon Cheeseburger with fries. Yummo they declared. For dessert we got the gelatos. I got the chocolate and hubby got the no sugar mango. Total refreshment in a cup. Really different and really good. Son had the carrot cake.

Now, one of the best features of Cosmic Rays besides the food is sitting outside on their deck and gazing at the castle. It is such a pretty spot to eat. You have the little waterway below you where the Swan boats used to ride and the castle directly in front of you. Really very nice.

Coming up next...Snack, snack, and more snacks!!

Okay, that turkey sandwich looks awesome. Normally we go for the chicken or chicken and ribs here but I love good sandwiches so I may need to try that one next time.

Loving the reviews by the way. Funny but I am a table service loving girl but you have me thinking that a trip using only counter service wouldn't be so bad.

I just read your entire review and you have me excited about trying a few new places - WPE for one! Thanks for sharing your review and photos! Sounds like a lovely trip!

What flavours are the gelatos? I see the chocolate one but that other one looks crazy cool!:wizard:

My DS is a big fan of all things mango. I will have to take him to Cosmic Rays for some of that gelato :thumbsup2
