UPDATE #293 FINAL LIST : DVC Christmas Tree, Sharing Holiday Magic!

Ok I went thru the boxes... and went to the store...

Each of my tree boxes contain the following...

One 12ft outdoor extention cord
one 9 ft indoor extension cord
One Balcony swag style multi colored lights.. 11 feet long..

One set of plastic onraments (good looking ones...)... 2 sets are sort of tealy blues pinks, greens 1 set red and white (it was out BWV tree last year) Not sure who is going to get which color... random
Hooks
Packing tape Clear to pack it all up for the next family and or sending it back to me

I will also put in a envelope for donations towards shipping (last year it was about 15 bucks each way I think...) And another copy of the Who's next list...

In a seprate box....
One 4 foot tree (could be 3 foot, I just now spaced it) prelit mutli colored lights

On the outside will be the LIST of names and dates and the NAME of the TREE... IE SSR #1

I will finish packing them all up tomorrow (ie print out everything) and mail the first off!!!

Can anyone think of anything I forgot???

Bobbi...I am getting SOOOOO excited. Thank you for getting the tree out. My ME tickets came today too.

I want to remind fellow sharers in the tree exchange that $$$ posted for shipping is one way caculation(so don't forget to double), and also don't forget that from time to time items need repacing so round up a couple of dollars. Your amount will vary depending on the number of people on the list(not including the donor).

Just to verify that after taking out the $$$ for return postage, all other money will be sent back to the donor. Is there usually an envelope so I can secure the money? Bobbi if you didn't enclose one...I can bring one with me. Also Bobbi are you going to bring down a Postage Form...or where can I get one?

THANK YOU so much for helping with the "going down" postage, and the gifts for all that you provided, Terri. There is an envelope...Also, last year, I did enclose a mailing label, but the service mailing the tree back made out their own label, as did the service that shipped the tree down, so I didn't think it was necessary to enclose a label this year. My name/address is in the "directions" folder that's enclosed in the package.

The tree that's going down is what I consider a BWV tree. 2 years ago, we were having a GG for my DM's 85th birthday, and we were on a BWV's tree list. When we got home from the celebration, imagine my surprise when I went to Kroger's and saw "the" tree for sale. Well, I bought it, and kept it home last year. We were at VWL last year, and bought a "VWL" tree, that's the one that's home with us this year. It's decorated and on my dining room table. VWL is our destination next year, so the trees will switch places. One travels, one stays home and reminds me of DVC and the Dis friends we've made!

I am sooo excited too!!

You can see the information sheet on the outside. It is in a plastic page holder, and i taped the top just a bit, so you should be able to slide it in and out to cross off the names.... The blue folder containsa copy of the list and my return address, as well as an evenlope for the shipping donations... that folder will be in the ORNAMENT box, although BOTH boxes will have the plastic folder on the outside..

Both boxes are also marked with the tree # as shown below...

And finally a close up of the two ornament choices... The red, or 2 sets of the multi... I am sending first multi to SSR Tree #2... the other two will be surprized which you get

I am shipping the SSR#2 tree this afternoon... and I am going to do my best to PM all of this to all the people on that list, but that might take me until tonight.

Okay, all those on OKW 1 and OKW 3 lists - the trees have finallly shipped....equipped with lots of different things for you to decorate with.

The shipping on each box was $23.56 - because I put the exact same items in each box!

Since both boxes are coming to me at OKW next week....I'll bring down a FEDX label and put it in the box so that the two families at the end of the list can just bring it back down to the front desk. I'll also figure out where you can leave it....if it's not the front desk.

I forgot to put my address on the outside, but it's on the UPS label and it's on the inner flap of the box. I also put the list of recipients on the outside and the inside.

I'll slip a marker in there next week.

Just wanted to let my tree people (I like that Laurabearz, tree people) for VWL TREE #1 know I will be going thru my tree stuff today and packing it up. We will be driving down and bringing it with us. The box is white 12"x12"x36" long (A/C filter box from last year). I will be checking all the lights to make sure they work.

Your items certainly did not add that much weight!!! In 2004, we were not the owners of the tree and we were at BWV. That DIStree was so pretty, that when we got home and I saw one just like it for sale in Krogers, I bought it, to remind us of the wonderful time we had. I kept that tree at home, in the kitchen last year. This year, because we are staying at BWV, I decided to send that tree down. That is my "BWV" tree, that's how I refer to it at home.

Last year we stayed at VWL in December, and bought a completely different tree to share. I refer to that one as "our VWL" tree. That's the one that is home with us in Ohio this year.

Our 2 DVC homes are VWL and BWV, and we will alternate December trips between them.

I am sorry for confusing anyone.

FYI - The BWV trees #2 and #3 were shipped via UPS today. They should arrive Monday or Tuesday next week.

In the box is a 3 ft tree, mini lights, some small ornaments (you may want to bring a few more), hooks, an autotimer (I hate plugging lights in and out), 2 extension cords, electrical tape, hooks for ornaments, icicle lights for the patio/ balcony , and wire ties to tie the icicle lights as it will not damage the balcony this way.

What I did not pack was more tape so that I can tape up the box but I will try to bring that in my suitcase. I will also try to bring some kind of small tree skirt.

Wdstar, please consider all these items as a donation for next years cause.

As a note, I think it would be cool to have each family take a picture of the tree and so that we could all share what decorations and such as it went by. (ok it sounded a like cooler before I typed it)

we cannot take any more names for the trees, because the trees have all been shipped down to the DVC resorts.
Please look for our thread July 1st, 2007 for next thanksgiving/christmas/new years eve. We started this thread this pass july and we closed the thread the first weekend in Nov.
