So I hope this is the right place to put this but here goes.

Im pretty much set on what the plans are for Orlando and we are stoked to be spending a week at Disney World, but I am going to be taking a couple breaks from Disney, 1 daytime to go to the beach which I was thinking west coast beach and then one night on the east coast to hit a restaurant somewhere that you can sit outside and listen to the waves while eating dinner... I am traveling with my girlfriend and 8 year old daughter and 6 year old son and we will be arriving Saturday this week.

Any help on which beach would be best and which restaurant would be best that meet the descriptions would be amazing. as for the restaurant I would like to stay away from the elite super expensive places.

Disney has a beach resort about two hours from Orlando called Disney's Vero Beach Resort. It's east of Orlando right on the Atlantic. If you get an Ocean view inn room you will have a balcony overlooking the Atlantic with plenty of wave action.

For gulf coast beaches I like St Pete Beach and Clearwater Beach. If you want a few waves then go to Indian Rocks Beach but there are no lifeguards there.

I second the Gulf Coast beaches, particularly Clearwater.... the sand is like sugar, the water is warm, the waves are subtle and it's very relaxing.

As for the Atlantic side, Cocoa is close by, but not really my first choice, but the restaurants in that area are great

Well I think we have decided on Siesta Key as the west gulf beach we are going to visit. Clearwater is alos under consideration.

Still looking for specific names of some restaurants on the east coast that would fit our goals of being able to listen to the waves as well as outside. Sounds like Cocoa beach is the place to go. Any specifics on restaurant names ?
