Celebrating a birthday by taking a super quick WDW trip. My little boy loves his cupcakes, so I need a cupcake itinerary! We are doing three parks over a Friday to Monday trip and I would like to sample a different cupcake at each park. Looking for something special....not just your everyday plain old vanilla cupcake. :cake:

Please tell me your favorite cupcakes at the following locations:

Magic Kingdom area - Friday is our MK day but we also have dinner plans at Kona and I am willing to take a trip to Contemporary.

Hollywood Studios - since it is SWW, I think we will sample the themed cupcakes but is there anything else we might want to consider?

Epcot - This is a half day visit, so I am not sure we are going to WS (unless we are compelled to on our hunt for the best cupcakes!). Are there any yummy cupcakes on FW side?

Thanks!

The old Main St. bakery in MK had awesome cupcakes: enormous, yummy, frosting piled to the sky, covered with chunks of Oreos/Reese's/etc. People would stop us on Main St or see us sitting on a bench and say "that looks amazing, where did you get that?" But I think that shop got replaced with the Starbucks bakery, they had some good-looking cupcakes but not like the old ones. The other dessert/candy/fudge shops we went into only had plain old vanilla/chocolate cupcakes, certainly not worth the $4 or however much they were.

The only cupcakes we experienced on our last trip were at BOG lunch, I had the strawberry cream cheese, it was delicious.

Bog cupcakes are awesome. We go for lunch each trip and get one of each cupcake. Lol

Hollywood Studios - Starring Roles (and also found in Starbucks there as well).... BUTTERFINGER CUPCAKE! Omg, best cupcake we've ever had. Made the mistake of getting it a second time with a sweeter drink at Starbucks, that combination was not enjoyable as there was too much sweet going on. I can't wait until our next trip so I can get another one of these bad boys :yay:

We tried two of the cupcakes at a BOG lunch (I *think* we tried the Lemon Meringue & Triple Chocolate), I remember they were both "meh", neither one impressed us too much.

We really enjoyed the Frozen themed cupcakes from the store in DHS. I know you say it is for your little boy but the Olaf Carrot Cupcake was adorable and delicious.

Contempo Café would get my vote for near the Magic Kingdom (I'm not overimpressed by the current selections now that Main Street Bakery had gone) except for in the Circus Top place near the new Dumbos - they had a fantastic selection.

If you do go to the WS at EPCOT you get a nice selection in Karamell Kuche in Germany (although they wouldn't be my first choice with so many other yummies in there.)

Magic Kingdom:
- Big Top Treats in the new Fantasyland.
- Starbucks on Main Street
- the Confectionery on Main Street

Epcot:
- Starbucks in Future World
- Sunshine Seasons in the Land in Future World (the bakery area). Not sure if your child will like the cupcakes there. Lately they have been things like Chocolate Cherry and Red Velvet. I think they have had a Carrot Cake Cupcake also. Not my cup of tea.
- There was a Frozen themed cupcake in World Showcase in that area near Future World where there are the two gift shops next to the water (between Mexico and Canada). This was in March. I don't know if it is a permanent kiosk. I liked that cupcake a lot.

Disney's Hollywood Studios:
- Starring Rolls, but it closes early
- Starbucks supposedly has some of the same cupcakes as Starring Rolls, but has them in "to go" containers. Starring Rolls does not always (ever?) have take out containers tall enough for their cupcakes.

The lines tend to be long at Starbucks.

If you like frosting try the cupcake cups at the Cheshire cafe! We shared it but loved the vanilla and vanilla one. The flavors sometimes change I don't know what's current.

I LOVE that you have a cupcake itinerary!

Such a good idea! 4 out of 7 in our group will be celebrating Birthdays during our trip! We should celebrate one in each park! Thanks for the idea!!

Great ideas.

We don't have BOG plans, so we will need to look elsewhere on our MK day. The cupcake cup doesn't look that appealing to me, but I think my little icing eater might love that. We might also try Contempo to grab a cupcake for later.

Must try the butterfinger cupcake. I have read too many positive reviews.

Sounds like we might need to venture into WS on our Epcot day.

I know not listed in your area, but POP bad an Elvis cupcake that my son loves. I believe it's a chocolate cupcake but it has banana filling, peanut butter icing with chocolate drizzle and candied bacon bits.

sounds like I'm going to Starring Rolls and the boardwalk bakery this upcoming trip....love the cupcake itinerary idea!

Cappuccino cupcake at Pizza Planet in Hollywood Studios! I get one every time I visit.

I love that everyone has different opinions. For us, our favorites were BOG cupcakes. I think we did Triple Chocolate and Strawberry. Those were amazing. Also Boardwalk Bakery has some really good ones too.
One we were underwhelmed with: Contempo Cafe. Huge but flavor was lacking. Just a big mound of sugar. I felt like Starring Rolls might be similar. That's why we walked to BB for lunch. Plus lobster rolls. YUM

I had an amazing lemon cupcake at BOG a couple of years ago (not sure if they still have it or not)!

And, there's also The Kusafiri Bakery in the Animal Kingdom - Home of the White Chocolate Elephant and The Cottontop Tamarind.

I second the cupcake cup at MK if you have a frosting lover! I like my *hem* frosting with cake, so it was great! I've been told the Cheshire is regular buttercream and the white rabbit is cream cheese frosting. (Sorry for the dark picture!)

What kind of cupcake is the last picture from sunshine seasons?

Sunshine Seasons in EPCOT always has a couple of different cupcakes. Last November they had a chocolate cherry that was really good (chocolate cake with a cherry filling, chocolate frosting piled high and a cherry on top).
