Hi all! I thought of a few things I wanted to ask experienced cruisers please! :)

1) We are a party of 11, 4 connected reservations, all main dining. Do you think we will be seated all together?

2) bottled water - i'd like to take a couple of 24 packs on board, what's the best/usual way to do this?

3) My husband, kids and I have two rooms booked, and when I did the check in online I made charging all to one room... I gave the kids charging rights too. Silly question, but this means all our kttw cards will charge to one central account, am I right?

4) also charging related - when my kids have bought a drink or been to the gift shop... where can I see charged everyday to keep an eye on things, do I need to go to guest services or is it on the app or something? I will be applying gift cards to our account in advance so I just want to keep track and make sure we don't overspend but I also want them to have the freedom to have a little fun :D

5) can someone clarify the navigator app on board - we can either carry wave phone or our own phones with app installed and get the same information, and contact each other and other rooms, is this correct? Could I give my 10yr old an old iphone that isn't connected to a network, or are the wave phones fine for everything he needs?

Thank you in advance!!!!

polly

1/ if linked- yes.

2/ in your carry on, not suitcases, note ships water is fine and no need to do this.

3/ Yes each person will show on the stateroom account, thier charges against thier names, then will be netted off to one final balance.

4/ stateroom prints can be obtained at guest services on any ship, they are also available on stateroom TV on the Dream and Fantasy. If concierge, the concierge hosts get them for you.

5/ Wave phone is a very limited very old style cell phone, ok as a phone and basic messages, it does not support the navigator app. Your own smartphone, supports the navigator app, to give you better messaging, and information on menus, shows, characters, deck plans, disembarkation information, spa, meals etc.

Any smartphone even without a current contract, can be used for the navigator app, as long as that phone is able to access the Internet by wifi.

Phones should be in airplane mode with wifi on. Just make sure kids know not to take phone off of airplane mode! We did not even use the wave phones on our EBTA cruise.

My kids are young, so I have to keep wave phone on me bc that is how kids' club reaches out if there's an issue or someone needs to be picked up. My last cruise was Nov '15, so it's possible they have updated their contact procedures.

I just sucked it up and paid the outrageous fee for a case of bottled water. It was so helpful to have for our excursions and for Castaway. We had no problem with the water on board (we drank it) and we brought our Tervis mugs, but my family of 4 drinks a lot of water and it was convenient to have in our room. We finished a case on a 5 night cruise.

Great tips, thank you! Lugging water on board sounds like it will be a pain but probably worth it, so I'll try to get a collapsible luggage cart or something. And I'll bring an old phone for my younger son. Thanks for the info everyone!

3. In our experience, we do get separate bills delivered to each cabin reflecting the charges of those occupants. As noted, all charges can be linked to one credit card.

Happy sailing. :boat:

Bottled water comes out of a tap somewhere. It is just purified by UV, reverse osmosis, or some other means. Reverse osmosis is used to turn sea water to fresh water on board. It will be as safe to drink as bottled water.

it's more a convenience thing than a water quality issue - I was thinking it would be handy for the family (we have 4 rooms) to have bottled water in the fridge, and to be easily stuffed into the beach bag or handbag on excursion days

Bear in mind that if you carry on a couple of 24 packs, upon embarkation, that you will have to lug it around with you until your room is ready. that may not be for a couple of hours. i carried on a small backpack with 6 bottles in it for my wife and i was glad when the room was ready.

That is a fantastic point and another reason why we paid for the case of water through DCL. It was in our room waiting for us, no lugging around required!

We always just bring our own refillable water bottles, and fill up from the tap in the room (yes the "cold" does get cold). Then place in fridge. Works just fine.

How do you pay for a case of water through DCL? and do you know what the brand is? DD can't drink Dasani due to the sulfates.

Disney is a Coca-Cola partner, so it's Dasani. I've gotten Evian in Concierge. Not sure if it's available in regular cabins. We just bring a bottle.

Thanks for the info! She can only drink Fiji, Poland Spring, or Aqua Pana. We'll have to figure something out. lol

Can she drink tap water?

If not, in your case, I would suggest you bring water for her to drink. Safety first and always.

For those wanting the convenience of bottles, some have brought empty water bottles or insulated water bottles and just fill up w/ tap water. These can be packed in the checked luggage, empty. This way you have the convenience w/o the expense / hassle of cases of water.

A word about older iphones (and ipods), we brought my old iphone 4 for my daughter to use, but we ended up not being able to use it once we got onboard. We had the app downloaded before we went. But once we got onboard, we discovered to use the texting app, your device had to be updated to at least 7 iOS (if I remember right). The old phone couldn't be updated to that, so we couldn't use it.
