GO SEE THE MOVIE "UP!"

Seriously.

Go.

Now.

Put down your mouse, putting the rest of the family in the car with you is optional, but get your body to the theatre and go see 'UP!'

I think it is now my favorite movie of ALL time. Not just my favorite Disney movie, but my favorite of every movie ever made! (The only other Disney flicks I always include on my list of about 12 are Little Mermaid, Mulan, and Monsters, Inc.) Please know I like Disney, love Pixar, but wouldn't consider myself a "worshipper" who just automatically loves everything they do.

This was a beautiful to look at film. Of course, I expect that from a Disney animated. The 3D was okay (nothing jumping out the screen at you) but I really don't feel it would make much of a difference whether you saw the 3D or "regular" versions.

It's a funny movie with some cute oneliners and adorable characters. Again, I expect that from a Disney animated.

But more than that- this movie MEANT SOMETHING. It was emotional and sentimental. I am not too proud to say I cried four times (but my kids just got a little sad at parts, THEY didn't cry, it's more stuff as an adult that will touch you...so it's not too sad for kids, don't worry). I'm not someone who usually ever cries at the movies. Maybe once. But this one just, well, it really really touched my heart.

Before it was even over I wanted to see it again.

WAIT- Why are you all still reading this? SHOO! GO TO THE THEATRE!

We are going to see it on Sunday. Thanks for the glowing review. I may save a few pannies and see it without the 3D.

One bonus on the 3D, though...my kids LOVED the fact that they were watching the movie with "Carl" glasses (our 3D glasses did actually look like a version of what the old man character wears). We are probably going to pop the lenses out now and use them for that! And keep in mind I took two girls ages 8 and 9, one is a diva princess, and she even proceded to wear her "Carl" glasses for the rest of the afternoon! :)

I cried and laughed throughout the movie. I made sure to explain the message to my kids because it was golden!!! Pixar animation gets better but the way the story is told does not lag behind!

I took my kids this afternoon and I cried and laughed as well! I didn't expect to like it as much as I did. Definitely worth spending money to go check it out. My DH didn't go with us and I am thinking that he might have to take me to see it again I loved it so much!
:wizard:

Ok, you got me, I want to see it now. Do you think I can take my son he is turning 2 this week. He does love his (Disney) shows and has sat through Imagination Movers, Playhouse Disney Live on Stage, the circus, and Elmo Live. Is he too little or should I brave it?

I debated taking my son (turned 2 today) and ended up not doing it. BUT...he does not watch TV AT ALL! No, he's not denied it, the darn thing is probably on all day long, but he just can't "sit" to watch it because he's way too "busy". So...I'm not sure.

There's some "action" but it doesn't dominate the movie. It's very story driven but not so much it doesn't still have cartoon charm. But it's not a 3D "Ice-Agey" picture when the squirrel is chasing the nut and the nut is popping out at the screen at you with a bizillion sound effects, so I don't know if much under 4 would really get into the picture. You know your child best, though.

I think if it were me I would leave him home the first time to at least know I would see it myself and not be running back and forth to the lobby. Then if you think he can handle it you can try it when you've already seen it once and won't be missing things.

It was great! I cried about 4 times myself, but laughed alot more!!!

Yes, I suppose I should make it clear it wasn't a "sad" movie, it was heartfelt and sentimental and touching. It's not like the second half of watching Les Mis on stage if you've ever been through that experience. I laughed a lot and smiled whole bunches, and honestly the adults in the audience seemed more vocal in every emotion than the kids were, lol!

Now I'm hoping I haven't built this up so much that people become automatically disappointed because of the huge build up. But I have yet to hear from anyone who has seen it who has not only enjoyed the pic but even felt it was worthy of the UNGODLY theatre ticket prices!

Awesome movie! Went to see it last night. My DH who I don't think has any tear ducts, had tears in his eyes when Carl found the adventure book again! Wow! Who knew? Thanks Pixar!

I took my 3 year old to see it on Friday. We both loved it! He sat still through the entire thing, and yesterday he told me he wanted to see the movie with the house that had balloons again.
