since my daughter started this whole disney wish trip,I started looking on the net to try and find some sort of info and I stumbled across this site.

This is such a wonderful place so many ideas and everyone looks so helpful and nice. it is so hard to come by nowadays. since she was diagnosed last year we have gotten the sad looks, the optimistic looks, and of course the wish i could help but i'm busy looks.

but here in every post i read i did not get any of those impressions.

I am very happy I found this site. It has great advice and it looks like a great community.

I just wanted to say thank you for all your time in writing your thoughts, your questions and your tips and trips for newbies like me.

I am happy that you found this site and that you are getting much needed info. Almost every one is more than willing to give you any advice they can, all you have to do is ask. I found this site after a rough first trip and I have been very thankful for all the wonderful info that I have received.,

Hi Connie;
Welcome to the boards. I have just joined a week ago and already have gotten very helpful information here. This is really a caring group of folks with a lot of experience and willingness to share. Hope your trip is magical.

do not know how far you are in wish trip planning. i was on 2 wish trips with grandsons last year. if you are staying at Give Kids The World plan time to do activities there plus the parks. yes each boy got his own trip that his brothers got to go on too. there was just not enough time to do everything we wanted to do.

Sorry its been so long since my last post. well I have good news and bad.

the bad news is that amanda has been in the hospital all week.
the doctors say her wegeners is starting again, this time its her sinuses giving to much pressure and they are scared it is really near her brain.
it is so hard for her,so now she has to start her therapy again she is not happy at all.

the good news is maw called and asked us for our dates yayyyyyy!!!!
she is so happy she wanted to go in may but the doc said it was too soon.
she was so bummed out (still is). so i thought why not october???

can anyone give me advice if it is good in october (crowds and temperatures)

it would really help with amanda maybe get her to be a bit happy again she had her heart set for the earliest possible.

she was diagnosed last year right before school let out so she had no summer fun and now it hits her again during her march break she really wanted some sort of fun this spring but i told her the magic will happen when its supposed to happen. i just want to brighten her day a bit with a date.

Welcome to the Disabilities board this is my favorite chat board by far everyone is wonderful. May and October are both great times to be in Disney. We really like October they have the Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. Columbus weekend is a little crowded but the rest of the month has always been great for us.

we start her chemo this week, she is really not looking forward to it.

we have given our dates to maw, we chose the week of the 22nd october
hopefully they will accept it because amanda saw there was a big halloween party she missed halloween last year.

so there it is i will give another update when maw gets back to me

I went that week in 2010. I love the decorations that time of year, the MNSSHP is a blast! Beware, it may be hotter than you expect, it was 90 everyday that we were there.

Best to your daughter.

Welcome to the boards! We will be at WDW the same week as you, October 20th - 27th. It is our favorite time of year at the parks. My DS, now age 22, went on a MAW when he was 16. Give Kids the World was full at the time, so we stayed at Beach Club Resort. We had a fantastic time and you will, too. MNNSHP is not to be missed.

omg i have been looking on the net for mnsshp and wow it looks great!!!

does anyone have any tips for mnsshp that i would need?

So glad you have found the site helpful. Our son has CP, which gives it's own looks, and is adopted, so we get great comments too. We hope you find unconditional support in many areas. Best to your daughter and I hope that MAW picks that date for you guys! Sounds like so much fun!

OP....Did you happen to pull up You Tube videos of some of the attractions to share with your DD? That may keep her occupied during her round of chemo--just something to keep her mind off her illness.

October is a GREAT time at WDW. We'll be there the week before you with extended family (my DD and DSIL and my three grandkids 9,6,4). The Halloween Party is so much fun. Lots of people dress up, you can trick or treat and the parade is good, too. The special lighting effects at night aren't to be missed.

You're right about the people on this discussion board. Most are helpful and genuine---though we do get the occasional troll and/or bonehead :rotfl: I've learned so much from everyone here.
