UOAP + 6 months free ?'s

We didn't renew our Preferred AP's this year because we knew we wouldn't be able to be there in 2019, but we will be back in 2020 and I'd like to purchase this AP+6 months in March. Here are my questions.

1) On the UO site the AP deal states "Purchase and Activate by April 4, 2019. Do you really have to activate it by April 4th or just purchase it by then?

2) If you just need to purchase it by then it would be 15 months until I'm there so is there any limit after purchase until activation?
